BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - CGaboury - 09-08-2016 If I complete Intro To Statistics from ALEKS, is it required that I complete Business Statistics for my AOS requirement? Aside from Intro to Stats, is there ever a need to take another stats class? I ask because I'm currently taking Intro to stats and it's a nightmare. I'm hoping to avoid it for the rest of my foreseeable life. BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - Flelm - 09-08-2016 You don't need a statistics class in your AOS. You're fine if you complete the one class. No, but I would highly recommend taking the Business Statistics course at Saylor BUS 204 for $25/3 credits and it'll be in your AOS. Since you're already taking "Statistics", you should also take this course at the same time or right after, transfers in as upper level OPM-351 Business Statistics. That's what I've done and recommended, see here for details: Open Course Option for ASBA BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - CGaboury - 09-08-2016 Thanks for the recommendation. I'll revisit this subject once I've actually completed Intro to Statistics. The way things are panning out right now, I've got the feeling it'll be the last class I want to take. I wouldn't go this route. ALEKS has a Business Stats course, it'd make more sense to do it through them since it's included in the ALEKS subscription. Even if you need an extra month it's still cheaper and easier through ALEKS and you don't have the hassle of a proctor. BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - CGaboury - 09-08-2016 What would this transfer as? It's a LL credit correct? I've had my ALEKS subscription for 3 days and Ive already completed Intermediate and College Algebra classes. Intro to Stats is proving difficult. But I've got 27 days to get it done with my first month. I plan to take as many ALEKS courses as I can possible take that won't dupe and will afford me usable credits. I just need to determine what those actually are. BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - jsd - 09-08-2016 I would assume BUS204 Business Statistics like Saylor, but of course verify that BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - ndelco - 09-08-2016 I'm pretty sure someone told me that all ALEKS Stats courses duplicate each other, at least at TESU. Otherwise I would have done an extra course. BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - jsd - 09-08-2016 oh, well in that case Saylor makes sense. It seems weird that they would dup since TESU has a Business Stats course, but whatever. I know my CC Stats for Social Sciences came in a regular Intro to Stats, so I assume ALEKS's behavioral science would also duplicate. BSBA:GM from TESU-Business Statistics? - dfrecore - 09-08-2016 All 3 ALEKS Stats courses duplicate each other and all the rest of the stats courses on this forum EXCEPT the Saylor course, which does come in as OPM-351. I would assume that it's harder, but I have no idea. BUT, if you're already working your way through Intro to Stats on ALEKS, and you get through enough to get that 70% on it, I would probably also take the Saylor exam for $25. If you don't pass, then I would drop it and move on, but for $25, it's totally worth a try. If you pass, that's 3cr of UL in your AOS, which is nothing to sneeze at! But I understand your not loving Stats, that's been a common thread on here for a long time. I'm with you (haven't passed it yet either). |
