TESU:BSBA or BA lib arts? - CGaboury - 09-09-2016 Which of these two is easier to accomplish? Test out of both? TESU:BSBA or BA lib arts? - Flelm - 09-09-2016 The biggest difference from my understanding is the Capstone requirement. With the BSBA you can test out of it with a TECEP. With any other degree, you need to actually take the class through TESU. TESU:BSBA or BA lib arts? - dfrecore - 09-09-2016 There are a lot of differences! - The BALS is MUCH more flexible than the BSBA - The BSBA has 42cr of set requirements (36cr core plus 6cr math), while the BALS has 3cr (capstone) - The BSBA only has 6cr of Free Electives, while the BALS has 27cr - which can make a huge difference if you're bringing in a lot of credits. - The BALS will take any college-level math course, including ALEKS' Intermediate Algebra, the College Math CLEP or the Applied Liberal Arts Math TECEP. The BSBA requires College Algebra and Statistics, plus an additional math course of your choice. - The BALS is very flexible on which courses you can bring into the AOS. The BSBA is limited to business courses, and even then, must be distributed in 3 of the 4 areas. - For someone bringing in a lot of credits, the BSBA may be hard to fit those credits into. The BALS may be a better fit for said credits. - If you just don't like the courses you need to take for the BSBA, then it's going to be a struggle to get through them. Both are test-out-able except the BALS capstone - but it may be worth it for someone to take that course, in order to not have to take the BSBA courses. If you're a history buff, or like psychology, there are a lot of testing options for those types of courses - but a very limited place to put them in the BSBA. So, it really just depends on where you're at in terms of credits earned, as well as what you want to take for your courses. If it were truly easy to get through the BSBA, everyone would do it! TESU:BSBA or BA lib arts? - CGaboury - 09-09-2016 So the capstone can't be done by TECEP? What exactly is it? TESU:BSBA or BA lib arts? - jsd - 09-09-2016 right, only BSBA's capstone can be done via TECEP. The liberal arts capstone is a 12-week research project, a mini-thesis/dissertation type thing. It's still under-graduate level work, so it's not something as in depth as a normal thesis that you'd have to defend in front of a committee, but it does take effort.
