Hi, I am needing to take a history class to send credit to CCC in Alabama to graduate. I was just informed they only accept credit from regionally accredited institutions, so I am assuming study.com and SL and similar are out. What is my best option for a history 121/122, and the rest are 200 level classes, I'm assuming that means they are more difficult, like eco 231. Thanks!

Straighterline is only out if the institution to which you wish to have the credit applied says its out, so, it may be worth checking as to whether they accept, before ruling out Straighterline.

Other than that - assuming you have to take a class, other than Straigherline (I'm completely ignorant of Study.com) - check out the thread, "below," wherein I ask about taking an accelerated class truly other than Straighterline, as some people provided resources that may speak to that need.

I'm assuming CCC is a community college? If so, it may be worth it to see if they accept CLEPs and/or DSSTs.

She said they accept ace credits if they meet the minimum scores.Attached is their policy.
So they didn't tell me specifically "ace approved", she said "ace credits".

and yes, calhoun community college.

Page 30-31 has their "alternative learning" policy. Looks like CLEPs are ok. And, no more than 25% of your credits may come from non-traditional means.

If you're not in the 2015-16 catalog year, you might need to search up an old Catalog.

EDIT: It's hard to tell their stance on ACE courses. From my interpretation, they only accept ACE for "experience" as opposed to courses. If they accept any ACE source, then SL/Study.com/Shmoop/etc. should be fine.

Regional accreditation is only for colleges, so yes, those sources you mentioned would not count because they are businesses. Their credits transfer into some institutions that accept a type of credit called American Council Education evaluated credit. Not tons of schools do, but yes, you can ask. If your school is clear about needing RA credit, then you should look at community colleges and 4-year colleges.

Thanks ladies and gents. I wish they were more clear. She said they will "review" ace credit.

What are the courses? You said History 121/122, but that doesn't help someone who doesn't go to the school.

"I have copied billy joe bob on your concern listed below. He reviews credits for transfer and determines how they may be brought in. In general these credits are used to fulfill social science: HIS 121 or 122 or 201 or 202 or SOC 200 or 210* or PSY 200* or 210* or ECO 231 or 232* or GEO 100 or POL 200 or 211 or ANT 200 or 210 or 220 or 226* or 230 or SPH 116. If the course you plan to take there can transfer in as one of these, then you will need to send your transcripts back to us to bring the official credit in and then apply for graduation."

I don't know what 121 is compared to 101 like every history class I see offered.
