ACE will request on December 1 that ALEKS remove all ACE materials and references to ACE from the web site. ACE will NOT "grandfather" any students who have started the course" KayV Wrote:Wow, December 1 and not January 1? Yikes! So despite the title of this thread, "ALEKS extended to December 31, 2016," it is in fact not extended? Just feeling very confused because I'd like to use some ALEKS in my degree but I haven't started any yet. If I sign up tomorrow would they count if I finish them off by Dec. 31? Or could I even sign up in December still? Or not at all since ACE is asking them to remove all reference to them on the website? ALEKS extended to December 31. 2016 - bjcheung77 - 11-29-2016 I think that the ACE Credit Registry website (where the courses are showing) has a specific date of Dec 31/2016. But within their own records, Dec 1 is the cut off. It's a discrepancy within their own reporting systems! For those who need Math Credits, Saylor/Shmoop/SL/Study.com are probably your best/easiest/cheapest options now. I'm just glad I finished what I wanted from ALEKS a few months back. There are other options out there though... Removed paragraph asking about dec 1 Don't forget testing options like CLEP, DSST, and TECEP. In particular, TECEP for Applied Liberal Arts Math is almost as easy as it gets for college math credit and it doesn't duplicate with ALEKS. CLEP College Mathematics is worth 6 credits at TESU. ALEKS extended to December 31. 2016 - KayV - 11-29-2016 Okay, well I feel terrible now even though it STILL says valid until 12/31/2016. ALEKS extended to December 31. 2016 - azt579 - 11-29-2016 What are some other options for statistics? ALEKS extended to December 31. 2016 - nerd - 11-29-2016 Bummer. Just when I was starting to make some progress too. I'm not sure what I'll do now, but my options are Straighterline and Study.com basically for intermediate Algebra and College Algebra I think, so now I'll start looking into them. Edit: (Edit 2: Oops, never mind.) Any chance that ALEKS will still get their ACE approval back, just a bit late like they did back in 2013? Sophia.org is pretty nice and they have a Statistics course, though it isn't nearly as inexpensive as ALEKS. Straighterline is also a good option from what I've heard, yet I haven't tried it myself.
