I still don't understand the confusion. The ACE database says the expiration date is 12/31. I'm not sure why that wouldn't be the "official" word.

It is the official word - it's MORE official than calling ALEKS. In the relationship, ALEKS is the client here, ACE has all the power. If ALEKS doesn't seek renewal, then their classes aren't worth credit - period. ACE has extended their creditworthiness (why? that's speculation) until Dec 31, so if you're undecided, sign up and rock it out asap.
ALEKS has opted out. We don't know why. My contact at ACE doesn't know why- but they have.

So I need a little clarification here. If ALEKS doesn't seek renewal..Then any work done in December won't be worth credit?

Any work completed AFTER the expiration date won;t be worth credit. the expiration date is 12/31.

Here's what ACE sent me regarding renewing past their 12/31 expiration:

Hopefully by noon tomorrow, someone will have tried to get credit for a course completed today 12/1/16 and report back with the results. I know someone who couldn't get ALEKS statistics passed prior to the deadline but passed everything else.
Side question: Does anyone know if WGU has accepted ALEKS recently like in the last year?

I think the best solution is to somehow get an ACE rep to make a name on this site and personally talk to us like Study.com has done. Then we can know every class in the pipeline, clear up any confusion, discuss our annoyances that certain classes are only recommended for 1 or 2 credits and so on... Maybe if someone offers to make Christmas cookies for an ACE rep we can talk one into doing this for us. Any volunteers?? Who's with me?!
