Another ALEKS question - before I break something... - MD_AJIBULU - 03-08-2017

So I started with Beginners Algebra based on recommendations in the various threads. I finished the assessment, then looked via the Master Account and it appears I got an 85% - Yay! (?)....

Um...now what do I do? Do I have to move through the PIE? (It doesn't appear so based on what I've read but let's assume my comprehension isn't what it used to be. Do I go to ACE and notify them that I've "completed the Beg. Alg Course with ALEKS? Do I just switch the student account to the next math in the series? (I was going to take Intermediate next; I need College Algebra, Stats and have 3 open electives so I figure the Beg and Int can fit there if I pass.

I'm (uncharacteristically) afraid of pushing any buttons and voiding the 5 hours and 3 paper cuts I spent trying to get answer all the questions correctly.

Your next step is to create an ACE account, then request approval for Beginning Algebra.
The steps are at the end of this page:

you got more than 70%

so you "passed"

now go here
https://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseaction=transcripts.main

create a login

add ALEKS Beginning Algebra to your transcript

then have them send the transcript to your school (I think its $30 the first time to send, I forget)

edit : I am too slow

Well done you!
On to Intermediate Algebra!

Another ALEKS question - before I break something... - dfrecore - 03-08-2017

When I was taking my Beginning & Intermediate Algebra, I went to 100% just because I wanted the review. It makes the subsequent course go more quickly as well (you get a better score on the assessment). So it's not as bad as it sounds.

Just an FYI, Beginning Algebra is ACE-approved, but TESU won't accept it as a college-level math course. But, other schools might, so it's not totally wasted.

If you're doing well when you finish College Algebra, you should try Trig or Precalc. Can't hurt to take the assessment and see where you land. If you're low, you can decide to move on. But if you score decently, you might try working through the pie a little to see what happens. Worst case, you spend a little time doing something hard. Best case, you pass and get 3cr more than you planned on. Obviously, don't spend too much time on it, since you'll want to take Stats and don't want to run out of time.

Good luck!

Just passed College Algebra - 3 attempts, 65% 68% and "the precious"...70%

QUESTION: Given the 3/31 deadline, will I need to submit the ACE transcript to TESU before that date or is it sufficient that I completed the course prior to that date (and can therefore submit the ACE transcript to TESU whenever I'm ready)?

As long as you complete it prior to the deadline you're good for eternity.

Once it's completed and on your ACE transcript, you're golden.
