Davar ruined me. What now? - Motivated2move - 06-29-2017

I took all the classes I could take at Davar so I switched back to Study.com. Keep in mind that I started at Study and I used to find the videos quaint and charming. After a month of succinct information and self-research at Davar, I am having the hardest time transitioning back. It just seems so.. wordy and unnecessary. I don't want to hear about the troubles of the cartoon characters anymore.

What else is like Davar? Are the TECEPs similar to the Davar self study program? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The cheapest would be "Saylor Academy" and of course the TECEPs, have you tried Straighterline?
They're the other half of the combo. I always recommend the Straighterline/Study.com combo!

Saylor you just study and pay the ProctorU fee when you're ready to take it. $25 plus the extra fee to not wait, if you want.

TECEPs are similar because they even have the short essays. They are $117. ProctorU.

CLEPs, DSSTs, and UExcels. You have to go to a test center.

You can also take CSU Global CBEs at home. The school provides the study materials, and they're usually easy to get through. You may need to supplement with the recommended text. The only issue is that the CBEs are $250.

Study.com was not around when I completed my first degrees, so I was spoiled by being able to knock out credits quickly with CLEP and DSST. I tried Study.com last year and couldn't take it.

Haha! I love this. Davar withdrawal. Feeling the same way. I do like the Saylor tests. Not quite as much fun, but still pretty good. Three chances, too.

Here is another idea. Modern States has courses that tie into CLEP exams. It is a series of videos and related material. The videos have transcripts. I ended up mostly reading the transcripts and then took the Saylor exams for business law and macroeconomics. That, to me, is the closest approximation to the Davar classes. You could do the same thing for any of those courses and then take the CLEP exam as well.
