Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - leland.kirk - 11-19-2017 I'm just feeling a little lost, like the credit requirements seem a bit vague to me, but that's probably just from me not knowing what I'm doing, so any tips/advice would be great! Unfortunately starting from scratch, so I just got started yesterday on Shmoop, so I knocked out Pop Culture Literacy and I'm almost done with Drugs in Literature (which are both fairly easy and interesting if anyone wants to try them!) and plan to knock out some other literature and history stuff (and maybe algebra). RE: Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - quigongene - 11-19-2017 Don't forget your free credits, since you're starting from zero: http://degreeforum.wikia.com/wiki/Free_Sources_of_Credit RE: Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - bjcheung77 - 11-19-2017 Are you working towards a degree at Excelsior or TESU? Have you checked with them to see if they accept Shmoop? I haven't checked COSC or Excelsior, just wondering if you or someone has done so... I recall that Excelsior, for the most part, will accept ACE credits the way they are recommended, but some courses are not always UL even when ACE recommends it that way. I know WGU doesn't accept Shmoop credits as they're not proctored (I still wonder why they accepted ALEKS!) RE: Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - leland.kirk - 11-19-2017 @quigonegene, thanks! I'll definitely at least get that ethics course! @bjcheung77, I haven't contacted either, but Excelsior is the one I was looking at. I think it was here that I saw that they took ACE in general: https://info.excelsior.edu/student-policies/non-collegiate-sources-of-credit/ I didn't see Humanities as an option from TESU, does it have a better rep than EC? I just completed a BALSHUM at Tesu. It is a Liberal Studies degree with a concentration in Humanities and is probably one of the simplest to complete because you just need five Shmoop literature courses for the upper level credits. https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/Liberal-Studies.cfm RE: Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - leland.kirk - 11-20-2017 (11-20-2017, 07:30 PM)socsci Wrote:(11-19-2017, 08:32 PM)leland.kirk Wrote: @quigonegene, thanks! RE: Has anyone got a BA in Humanities from Excelsior? - dfrecore - 11-23-2017 TESU counts some of the Shmoop courses as UL even though ACE does not, so you're not going to have a lot of luck at EC getting those as UL. You'll need to find the UL courses somewhere else instead. |
