CSU-Chico: Multidisciplinary PD Credits for Educators - eriehiker - 03-04-2018 California State University-Chico seems to have a variety of credits available for educators. One opportunity is via the National Humanities Center. Participants take part in 1.5 hour seminars that are worth 3 hours of professional development each. The National Humanities Center keeps track of participation. This program is intended for California teachers, but I am not sure how strictly this is enforced. Once the fifteen hours is completed, participants fill out a form and pay $60 for one credit hour with an INTD course prefix. https://rce.csuchico.edu/teachers/nhc https://rce.csuchico.edu/teachers/nhc/credit https://rce.csuchico.edu/sites/default/files/teachers/intd_registration_form.pdf The California Teachers Association sponsors conferences that can earn a participant credit via CSU-Chico. Again, these are $60 per credit hour. These have much less utility than the first type because they require travel to California, Las Vegas and other places and, of course, are intended for teachers and association members. They also have a variety of EDU-type prefixes. I would love to attend some of these and I always enjoy hanging out with CTA members, but this probably has narrow appeal. https://rce.csuchico.edu/teachers/cta There is another program via the National Art Education Association. This requires participation in webinars, etc. These credits cost $85 per credit hour and have an EDUC prefix. https://rce.csuchico.edu/teachers/naea https://rce.csuchico.edu/sites/default/files/teachers/educ_831_naea_current_issues_spring_18_reg_0.pdf There is also a Multidisciplinary Professional Development program that seems to require the same form as the first program for INTD credit at $60 pch. This one has the complicating factor of seeming to require signatures confirming attendance at professional development sessions. https://rce.csuchico.edu/teachers/county-office-info https://rce.csuchico.edu/sites/default/files/teachers/intd_registration_form.pdf https://rce.csuchico.edu/sites/default/files/teachers/current_signatories_addresses.pdf RE: CSU-Chico: Multidisciplinary PD Credits for Educators - High_Order1 - 03-10-2018 saw this on the chico page: Grades: These courses are graded credit/no credit and do not meet degree or credential requirements. I was mentally prepping myself for some seminars! |
