Study.com contributing to TESU GPA?? - icampy - 05-03-2018

"How will Study.com courses affect my GPA?

coming soon."

Is this just a random snippet on the SDC page at TESU, or does it actually mean something? Perhaps some special agreement for the future??? Wishful thinking, but not sure why they would answer with "coming soon", instead of "only courses taken through TESU are eligible for GPA" or something similar.

I don't find the notion of grades from study.com transferring to TESU a positive thing. It means having the sweat the final more. Then again, I'm one of those people that prefers doing projects and writing papers since they are more like what you actually do in the working world.

That will be a major disincentive for people. Some of us are on the C's get degrees plan, and don't really care about doing well on Study.com (or other) courses. I've mostly gotten B's on them, purely by choice.

I agree. Especially since lots of people(myself included) really half ass the essays or skip them to just meet the minimum requirements for passing.

On the other hand, That could potentially provide an opportunity for people to use SDC to boost their GPA with the easier courses.

That doesn't actually sound like a positive if the goal is education.

This would explain why they are asking for a transcript directly from SDC and not through ACE, I suppose.

But you have been able to send transcripts directly from SL for years, and they've never done this.

That is very true.

But they also accept SL on ACE transcripts. They don't MAKE you send them direct from SL like they do with SDC

Not sure what will happen, but hopefully they give advance notice IF they do decide to do this.

You would have a LOT of angry/lost customers otherwise.
