Pierpont 1 credit class - quigongene - 08-11-2018

I used this method to dig up a self-paced 1 credit course at Pierpont for residency.  I have no idea if it will work.

Disclaimer:  This was just me browsing their course catalog looking for a way to get residency with Pierpont....Nancy did NOT recommend it.  Double check with her before dropping the $$$ for it.

I started here:
https://webfors.fairmontstate.edu/schedu...hedule.htm

Clicked on "Fall 2018 Schedule'
Clicked on "Class Search"
Clicked on "Fall Semester 2018" then "Submit"
Selected all items under "Subject" (use the shift key)
Put "1" to "1" in "Credit Range"
Clicked "Class Search"

Search the page that comes up for "HUSV 1101" and you'll see the course.

I need to reiterate here....Nancy did not recommend this course.  It just looked like the easiest/cheapest way (to me) to get 1 credit onto a Pierpont transcript.

Self-paced, too Smile

I'll probably be taking that one for the transcript. Big Grin

$432 just to get a transcript? Yikes, that's expensive.

If you just need a transcript, but not an AAS, you're actually much better off to do TESU - apply ($75), and take a LL TECEP exam ($75).

If you need an AA, then Pierpont is still your cheapest option, but it's not cheap by any means.

If this works, I'm going to call BS on Nancy- this is no reflection on you Quiq, but if she has the option of inputting courses into the college database, then she should be doing it for everyone every time. I'm still caught up on someone's comment in one of our threads about them not having the software (or similar) which strongly suggests that the AAS BOG isn't in the system at all- and if that's the case, then your ONE CLASS is likely all that will appear on your transcript (if they actually can't input credit into this degree program). Then again, if they can, they can do it WITHOUT you paying for this class.
This makes no sense whatsoever.

I was asked about this in PM, so I figured I'd post the info in a thread for future reference.

Aid would be paying for it, at least that's how it looks. I hate to take away the aid that could be used at WGU, but I need an A.A.S with a transcript if I want to block transfer into WGU. I hate to play the game, but it might be what I have to do.

I guess it depends on how much it would cost to take other courses and then transfer those to WGU. A block transfer is nice, but it might cost less than $432 to take courses that you can use there instead.

You'll just have to price it out to see.

Did taking a 1CR course actually circumvent the problems with no transcript?

According to Life_One's evaluation, the 1CR course seems to have fixed the "problem".
