Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - pws - 11-17-2018 For the Saylor Public Speaking, English Composition I & II, Technical Writing and Intro to Sociology courses—which all have the exact same name as TESU general courses—why aren't they on the Saylor equivalency list? Course equivalency is based on an evaluation of the course material by the school. The name of the course is immaterial. Not all the courses Saylor offers have established evaluations. Also keep in mind that any courses listed on an equivalency list may be subject to change unless they have a contracted articulation agreement with a particular school like TESU. RE: Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - jsd - 11-18-2018 That saylor list appears to be considerably out of date, too.... missing a lot of their credit courses RE: Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - pws - 11-18-2018 (11-18-2018, 01:59 PM)jsd Wrote: That saylor list appears to be considerably out of date, too.... missing a lot of their credit courses Do you know where to find an updated version? RE: Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - dfrecore - 11-18-2018 None of them are ACE approved. For Sociology, it's ACE approved but only 1cr. I don't think they'll take it for something like the Diversity requirement. Also, ACE lists more Saylor courses than TESU does on their equivalency list. Does it mean that even though TESU does not list them, they will still be accepted because ACE recommends them? Principles of Finance is ACE-recommended for UL, not sure how the Big 3 accept it. Quote:Also, ACE lists more Saylor courses than TESU does on their equivalency list. RE: Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - Supermind - 12-18-2018 Check out BUS-204, 208 & 210 on this TESU-Saylor list. Are these courses accepted as UL? https://www.tesu.edu/degree-completion/open-course-option RE: Why multiple Saylor courses not equivelent to the same TESU courses? - jsd - 12-18-2018 Likely not, this list seems to be from before TESU shifted their equivalencies to be more in line with ACE. But it's possible they allow it, especially since it's still published on their page this way. One of the business folks here will probably be able to answer this question better than I can, I haven't kept up on the BSBA changes/equivalencies. |
