How many people have degrees in social entrepreneurship? I bet, if you looked at the LinkedIn profiles of individuals in this field, you won't see many with this degree or concentration.

I haven't been able to enroll in any of the courses yet. I already know I'm going to hate the format. I'm sick of writing long papers. Thankfully, science programs don't require a bunch of long papers, so I've been happy at UF.

Thanks for addressing the email earlier!

I just ran some quick numbers on LinkedIn, and I am sure I missed some options, but depending on how you want to count here is what I found using a boolean search:
  • “MS social entrepreneurship" - 39
  • "Masters of Science, social entrepreneurship" - 17
  • "MA social entrepreneurship" - 121
  • "Master of Arts, social entrepreneurship" - 27
  • "MBA, social entrepreneurship" - 146
  • "Master of Business Administration, social entrepreneurship” - 581
  • "Masters of Business Administration, social entrepreneurship" - 1
  • "MS Social Enterprise" - 6
  • "Masters of Science Social Enterprise" - 2
  • "MA Social Enterprise" - 33
  • "Masters of Arts Social Enterprise" - 2
  • "MA Social Innovation" - 45
  • "Master of Arts Social Innovation" - 21
  • "Masters of Science Social Innovation" - 2
  • "MSC Innovation and Entrepreneurship" - 741

Thanks for elaborating on the email situation, knowing we'll have cloud included is a big relief for me!

By the way, for anyone else who is following and wondering about a dual concentration AFTER completing the first concentration totally including the capstone course (and probably after graduating)... I noticed last night that alumni receive 25% of tuition for the second degree (in April '17 it was 15% & in Dec '16 it was 30% per WayBackMachine). So if Walden keeps that offer in 2019/2020 then for me with the social entrepreneurship degree if I only need 3 additional courses (after graduating with the first degree) then the cost would be dropped from $8,795 to $6,596.25.

Has anyone looked to see how many written papers are being required?

But, the question was how many in the field have a degree in social entrepreneurship. There are probably hundreds of thousands of people with criminal justice degrees who want to become FBI agents or some other kind of federal law enforcement officer, but a small percentage end up working in the field. On the other hand, there are many federal law enforcement officers who have non-CJ degrees.
To put it differently, what percentage of people doing social entrepreneurship consulting have social entrepreneurship degrees?

Sometimes, people fall into the trap of being too literal. Some occupations require specific degrees, but most are rather flexible.

It looks like they waved the zero credit course for me. Does anyone know what the requirement is to get the course waived? They also check the box off on this competency as being fulfilled already:

PM010: Strategic Stakeholder Management

That's interesting to me. I wonder if a lot of those are Walden graduates.

Sanantone has really good points.

Great on the alumni discount!

Did they fulfill any parts on your evaluation beyond the zero credit course?

I'd have to check. I'm in the health care management concentration and didn't see anything else fulfilled.

I just received my bill showing that the $2,250 first term deduction was applied, and I owe $0.

My enrollment advisor told me to tell anyone who might be interested that the deadline to enroll has been extended a few days. She wants me to tell people to contact her directly. I don't know if she gets a bonus for this; earning commission would be illegal.

So we're classmates in the Project Management MBA  Smile   - I'm sure that your BS, Business Administration waived the first course (as it did for myself).  I did not get anything applied other than the first course. As far as the PM010 do you have and courses/exams on your transcript that could have been seen to be equivalent to (below)?:.
  • PM010 Strategic Stakeholder Management: Conduct a stakeholder analysis to determine the composition of a stakeholder community and its influence over business strategy and outcomes.
The course it is part of 'WMBA 6627: Stakeholder Management and Organizational Behavior' is not transferable, so good for you for getting credit on any of it.

I added everything that is selected-response (multiple choice) and short answer. I'll tackle the other types of assessments later because they'll take longer.

My plan is pretty similar - but I've run into my first snafu. I did receive my email information to login this morning, but did not get the options the documentation sent to me indicated that I would, so I replied back to the email from my Academic Advisor informing her that what she said I would see and happen did not.  Took her 10 minutes to respond, asked if I could send her a screen shot - I did, and she replied right back saying that I had been somehow set up with the 'portal for course based students'; she will escalate it and get back to me.  Snafu yes, response time - excellent so far. Note that is this is was all done during their listed business hours.

My first snafu resolved - it was user error (yes my own Blush ) - I logged in using the incorrect page link.

I submitted two grad courses but they do not come near to this course.  The only thing I can think of is my resume where I've highlighted all of the projects I've worked on.

RE: First Term Free at Walden! - GoodYellowDogs - 12-03-2018

Hit a snag.  Can't get an informal transcript from Excelsior.  Don't have a copy of it.   The original is packed in boxes in storage.   I'm trying to get a letter from Excelsior stating that I graduated.  Sigh.   Sad

Email and verbal onfirmation that there are no additional or hidden cost for books, etc. for the MHA.
