RN, OT, RT, ST, PT and Early Childhood Courses? - LadySearchDog - 06-03-2019
Anyone know where an RN (Register Nursing) classes/courses I can do. I am also wanting to do OT (Occupational Therapy), RT (Recreational Therapy), SP (Speech Therapy), PT (Physical Therapy) and Early Childhood Education classes/courses I can earn FAST! Thanks guys!

I researched more on what types of degrees people get from this degree forum theory. I fear the type of degrees I am seeking are skilled trained based. Like a Registered Nurse, or Occupational Therapist. I looked at all six of these credit earning sights on this form. There were not many classes I could use to get these types of degrees. How would I go about getting and RN (Registered Nurse), OT (Occupational Therapist) , PT (Psychical Therapist), ST (Speech Therapist), RT (Recreational Therapist) and a degree in Early Childhood Education then? I sure hope I can still do this! Thanks

The nurse and therapist type credentials don't lend themselves well to online and test out methods. You'll need some hands on and in person courses. It is possible,that you could finish a portion of your general education requirements via alternative means, if they are accepted by your specific program.
Education MIGHT be more doable via WGU as they tend to be somewhat alternative credit friendly and are competency based. I'm not as familiar with them, though.

There are very few courses that are available with what we suggest here for RN, OT, PT, SP, RT.
There are some ECE courses through Coopersmith. I think they charge $50/credit, so about $150/course. https://www.coopersmithcc.net/shop/?cat-name=education-courses But I'm not sure what you want to do with these courses, as most schools won't take them (a very specific set of schools will, but even then, you're not getting an ECE degree, just taking some ECE courses, which the Big 3 consider non-liberal arts or "free electives").
You probably need to figure out what you want before shelling out money to take these courses. I wouldn't do it until you have a much clearer path.

Well, you can simultaneously earn a BSN and RN via WGU in some states (California, Texas, Florida, Indiana, or Utah). You can also earn a BS in elementary education, special education, or a variety of middle and secondary school education degrees in specific disciplines from WGU. But they don't specifically offer an early childhood development/education degree. Both of those also require some hands-on training so you can't do it all online. WGU doesn't offer anything similar to the rest.
As far as I know, most of the therapists are license/certification based and don't require a specific degree, though some schools offer one as part of their training curriculum. But yeah, I'd imagine that the training for all those requires a significant amount of hands-on work so it wouldn't work well as an online training program.

OT, PT, and nursing are all very specific degrees that cannot fully be done online or via testing. (I think there is currently one nursing pre-licensure program fully online, but it requires all say synchronous classes and is over 100k in tuition, iirc.) OT and PT are master's degrees, and both of these and nursing require in-person training.
If you are already an LPN or paramedic, there are a couple mostly online options, but not for students without that type of significant clinical training and experience.

This thread is in the wrong section. You can't earn these degrees primarily through ACE and NCCRS courses. You should pick one profession to focus on. You can't easily earn all of these degrees.
Nurses can be licensed at the associate's level, but a BSN is recommended. There are online, entry-level BSN programs (WGU, UT Arlington, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, etc.), but you will need to complete science, social science, and general education prerequisites. You will also need access to local preceptors for your clinical rotations. Excelsior's associate's program is the only one in the country that does not require clinical rotations, but you need to be an LPN, paramedic, or current military medic. It can take over a year for you to be scheduled for Excelsior's skills test (CPNE), and it has a high failure rate.
Occupational therapists are licensed at the master's level. Physical therapists are licensed at the DOCTORAL level. USC is the only online physical therapy program I've come across for those who aren't already physical therapists. Physical therapy used to only require a master's degree, so almost all of the online programs are designed for current physical therapists to upgrade their degrees. There are occupational therapy programs that are about 75% online. For physical therapy and occupational therapy, you'll need a bachelor's degree plus whatever social science and science prerequisites a school requires.
Speech pathologists need a master's degree. While you can complete the coursework online, you'll need to also complete an internship. To get into a speech language pathology program, you either need a bachelor's degree in communication disorders or a bachelor's degree in any area plus a long list of prerequisite courses.
Early childhood education is not related to any of these jobs. What do you want to do with this degree? It won't automatically qualify you for a teaching license. It will qualify you to make $10 per hour at a daycare.
As tifferbugz mentioned, there are LPN or paramedic to RN programs. There are online paramedic programs; but, once again, you need access to a local provider of clinical rotations.

I was thinking if it was possible to get ANY degree fast, I would do nothing in life but focus only on these degrees. Then I could open a special needs in-home daycare. But mostly just for the knowledge

Nope, there are only certain degrees which lend themselves to online learning, and that schools offer.
