ALEKS unproctored? - homeschoolmom1 - 08-06-2019

I just wanted to confirm that ALEKS is unproctored. Is that correct? When you do the initial assessment, it is timed? Do you have to rush?

The initial assessment isn't proctored or timed, but that one doesn't count for credit. Once you pass a normal assessment at 70% or better you have to take an additional special "ACE Knowledge Check" which is timed (3 hours) and requires a special lockdown browser (respondus). The ACE knowledge check isn't proctored, but the lockdown browser doesn't allow you to have other apps running or switch windows during the test. If you can get a 70% or better on the ACE knowledge check as well, then you can request credit for the course. If not, it sends you back to learning mode.

So you end up having to take the assessment at least twice. You shouldn't have to rush unless you feel like you need more than 3 hours.
