Very good news. Thanks for posting.

RE: TESU and MicroBachelors - msganti - 01-08-2020

The WGU program has these 3 courses:
- Information Technology Foundations
- Network and Security Foundations
- Scripting and Programming Foundations
The course costs $1347 and gives 10 competency units. IMO this is not a good deal price-wise, as these can be completed elsewhere (Saylor, SDU, SL, Cert exams etc) for much cheaper.

RE: TESU and MicroBachelors - dfrecore - 01-08-2020

At $166/cr, and only available at a very limited number of schools, I don't see this as a great option. You can get all of these through ACE for 1/5 of the price, and will be accepted at more schools.

Now, if they end up getting transcripted by one of the schools, and it looks like you took them there, and get a grade, then it MIGHT be worth the price. But even then, it's only a maybe.

Interesting news, but I would prefer the Google IT certificate or whatever it's called.

well if TESU gives 9 credits for the 3 NYU courses that's only $55 per credit
which isn't horrible
but I'd be surprised if they give more than 2 credits per course

RE: TESU and MicroBachelors - wow - 01-09-2020

You can also get undergrad credits through some of the courses ASU and Doane University offer on EdX. I believe those are about the same $$ per credit as well, and they aren't terribly easy to find on the EdX website (I'm not in a place where I can look up the links just now). The ASU offerings are in math, which you can get cheaper elsewhere, but the Doane University has offering in health sciences and biostatistics, which might be harder to find on the cheap.

here's all of ASU's credit courses
https://www.edx.org/gfa

here it says this biostatistics course "is credit eligible through Doane University's Open Learning Academy."
https://www.edx.org/course/biostatistics-2

but I can't find a list of all Doane University's Open Learning Academy courses

it seems the only way is to look at each course https://www.edx.org/school/doanex
