Need planning advice - cut-off clarification for TESU - CarpeDiem8 - 01-30-2020

Hey All!

I currently have 84 credits done.

If I was aiming to do the Capstone + SOS-110 for the April term, that means I need to register no later than March 15th. Ideally, I'd like to register Feb 24th so that I can pick the professor that I want the most.

I plan on finishing up the last 31 credits between now and before I need to register.

Do I need to have those 31 credits done way before then so that they can be transferred over in time? I think you have to have at least 100 in your degree before you can register for the capstone, correct?

What is the cut-off that everyone talks about?

What am I missing? How can I plan this out?

Thanks for the clarification!

You need 114 credits in order for you to enroll for Capstone + SOS-110. = COSC
You need 100 credits to register for Capstone. = TESU

Thanks!

So does that mean I need to have 114 done at least ~30 days before I register?

Then once I register, those transferred courses get applied to my degrees?

I'm not sure what needs to happen first since I'm out of evaluations and need to register for a course for TESU to apply my completed courses!

Somehow I thought you were talking about COSC. But we are talking TESU. One moment

"Effective January 1, 2019, students enrolled in the University's bachelor's degree programs will need to complete a minimum of 100 credits in the program before registering for a capstone course."

Be sure to check the academic calendar https://www.tesu.edu/academics/undergrad-calendar

I'm not sure how your out-of-evaluations problem could be resolved. Since you only need 28 more credits, get those done ASAP. That sure won't hurt.

I'm no 'pro'-- but had to have 100 done when I registered for the capstone.

Congrats on being so close to being done with your degree!

Right now the evaluations only show 66 credits, even though I've transferred some as I've completed them, they haven't been applied to the degrees since I'm out of evals.

So are you currently enrolled?

No applied last year and it expires this May. Have to enroll in a TECEP or TESU course by no later than April so as to stay in the current catalog.

So do you think it's a matter of having 100 credits completed, transferred + TESU also confirming they received the transcripts before registering? Then the other 14 credits can be still in transit to TESU, but as long as those are done before starting capstone and SOS?

I think you should check with TESU.
You'll need those 100 cr to be in their system when you want to register the (corner+) Capstone. I'd contact TESU: I have credits to transfer in, and need those to be registered in order to be able to register for Capstone, however my evals are all used. How should I proceed?
I think it's best to get your credits (all 114) asap anyway.
