Guided Study - TESU Capstone - bsimi - 04-02-2020

My son-in-law is finishing up his degree at TESU and just started the Capstone LIB-495  Guided Study. He is quite confused on the modules as there isn't much guidance (unlike the regular capstone with the discussions).  Does anyone have any sample assignments/papers for the GS version of the capstone? He has reached out to the mentor, but hasn't gotten any answers yet. There is no rubric for the assignments and no guidance on length of each assignment.

Check the syllabus yet, in course documents? I'm disliking the OL version of TESU courses because classmates are not always up for forum posts under these circumstances and I don't like my potential grades depending on commenting on their absent posts.

Yes he has reviewed the syllabus. It doesn't give much guidance.  I believe the Guided Study syllabus is different than the OL version, and much less detailed

I think people in both versions have had that same complaint. I would msg the instructor for each assignment so that I knew exactly what was expected. Keep in in mind this is only the third time this particular format has been done for the school I believe. So it's likely still new for the professors.

Have you gotten any answers yet from the LIB-495-GS mentor? Sorry for being cranky when answering this earlier, I'm actually hoping to take the LIB Capstone by GS too.

I was getting pretty much spammed by a TESU advisor about how am I doing under these circumstances at the time, so if you have gotten any emails from Advising on those lines, you could get answers sorted out through Advising, possibly.

I'm doing well in my TESU and other classes (Sophia and ICC), just annoyed at 3 different emails from Advising on that. Right now my biggest concern is my classmates in an OL course not posting in the forums, so I worry about getting my comments grade part.

Did your instructors mention anything after you tried to get in contact with them? I would just continue working on any assignment and be aware of the due dates for them. In regards to the postings, just do your own posts and respond if anyone does, just get the assignments done first. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they should be much more forgiving in grading/marking of those posts. Stay safe, wash your hands, and do all you can on your front... Good luck!
