OMG Credits - ss20ts - 08-04-2020

That day you sit there and analyze all of the credits you've earned in your lifetime.....you add them all up....they come out to 196 and you still don't have the requirements for a bachelor's degree because you've changed your mind 153,000,000 times. Good grief. Granted most of them are from about 20 years ago, but still. Talk about depressing.

That's exactly my situation. I think I have earned 150+ credits so far. However, about 100 credits belong to a university I attended 6 years ago and they're all about art and music. So they won't transfer to a computer science degree. Now I have to work hard to get 90 more credits for my computer science degree.

I have 2 associate degrees. That's 90+ credits right there. In my youth I did a year of culinary school...there's 30 something more. I just did 21 at CSU and 17 at Sophia. It's crazy how they add up and yet you can't get a bachelor's degree out of them. Kind of sad.

With TESU "what if" option, one can see where all the credits apply the most and go from there and get a degree based on the most applicable credits. I know it cannot be done if you want a specific degree that goes with your current job. But in a world upside down with a pandemic, just follow your heart and what you already worked hard towards.

I love the what if option. It doesn't fully match what they offer, but it's still great to play around with.

What s TESU's what if option? I only have 21 upper level credits. Well at CSU they're upper level. They may not be everywhere else.

After you get your transcripts evaluated, you sign into Online Student Services (OSS) and select the "Academic Evaluation" link. Instead of selecting the degree that you signed up for, you choose something else from the dropdown menu. So, say, you said that you were going for a BSBA when you signed up but now you want to switch to Psychology. You choose BA in Psychology from the dropdown menu and it'll show you which of your already-earned and evaluated credits will apply where.

Ahhh so it's only available after you apply and they review your transcripts. I was looking around the website looking for this earlier.

I was thinking about their credit bank. It would be nice to have all of my transcripts in one location. I don't even know when I took everything or what the grades were. I can't even get course numbers for many of my classes because they're so old. Seems silly to pay for a transcript so I can look at it. Some schools will allow you access in a student account, but all don't unfortunately.

There's a decent chance I'll be at 200 when I finally earn a BS degree : \
