Any short and sweet 1 credit online courses out there? - ctcarl - 10-24-2020

Going to need a one credit course for a family member who's already taken Sophia Managing Conflict and Developing Effective Teams.

Thinking about Sophia College Readiness (three credits) or TEEX, but it's not clear whether you can get one credit for TEEX AWR173 or 175 by themselves anymore.

If anyone knows of a quick and cheap one credit online course, preferably without papers or proctoring, please post.

Thanks!

The TEEX cybersecurity courses are 1-credit by themselves. AWR173 and 175 are each 1-credit now. It used to be that you had to take all TEEX courses to get credits but that's not the case these days.

Not 1 credit but Sophia's environmental science is short and sweet.

Agreed.  I took that course and liked it.  I suppose we'll just look at taking another Sophia course.  Thanks!

Study.com's Library Science course is either 1 or 2 credits and can be done in an afternoon

Library science is actually 3 credits. SDC doesn't have any 1 or 2 credit courses for TESU.

This one?

Says 3 credits; 4 hours of video, 50 lessons with an average of 7 minutes each.

Is there any way to take just one course with SDC?  $216 seems pricey to earn one credit.

That's the cheapest way to get credit at SDC. I'd go with either Sophia or TEEX. Or The Institutes, if that hasn't already been done.

I sent my transcripts to UofP 3 weeks ago and have never heard anything. Not sure what the average time is

I'm thinking my 3 RA transcripts were evaluated by UotP in 4 days or less.

How does one go from 0 credits to a WGU BA for $4000? Is that with federal financial aid?

And for people just now looking at UotP, the baseline is now $4860 since the course assessment fees went up $20 a pop.

I know a guy who got his BSBA from WGU in 6 months while working full-time, but he is also a sysadmin who doesn't work anymore because he's automated 80% of his job, so he studied ~30 hours a week AT work and another 25 hours outside work. For a rational adult who needs actual study time, it's not that easy, but you can probably do 0 to BSBA for $4,000 if you use financial aid of ~2,000 for the first sememster and spend that same $2k on alternative credits beforehand

I bet you could do it very easily in 2 hours. But no, there's no way to just do one course with Study.com. If you want quick credit though, that's probably the quickest course I can think of.
