Excelsior BS in Social Sciences - Whitepines - 12-12-2020

Just curious. Has anyone tried the BS in Social Sciences at Excelsior? I have the credits for the basics - I have a BA in education, but am wondering what I can test out of or get through alternate credit for some of the last 30 credits.

Numerically, there are enough courses at SDC for 45 credits in social sciences compared to the 30 that are needed. But I am not sure that they cover everything that is needed. One possible option would be to take at least 2 of the social science courses at Sophia, and hopefully there are two that don't already overlap with what you have ( https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sophia.org_Equivalency_List#Social_Science ), and then apply to Excelsior. This unlocks a discount at Excelsior that makes it only slightly more expensive (by about $600, IIRC) to take 2 extra courses with them than it would cost to only take the 3 that are absolutely required. https://www.excelsior.edu/partner/sophia/

Why would you want an other BA, and a "generic" one at that? It seems like a waste of time and money.

You should consider a masters degree instead.
