The only gen ed requirement that TESU has and that Sophia does not offer is American Government. You can get that cheaply through InstantCert for $45.

The residency requirement is something entirely separate. If you want to avoid paying the residency waiver fee, you do need to take a total of 16+ credits from TESU itself. It is not necessary to do this. If you do decide that you want to avoid the residency waiver, I suggest taking an upper-level CS course or two and not your general eds. The Network Technology TECEP is supposedly pretty difficult and you might as well avoid it if you can.

PLA is not really recommended unless you're bringing in a LOT of credits because of the high cost (both time and money) involved. SDC is significantly cheaper and less work.
