Loose Degree Plan - Littlerose84 - 12-20-2020 I am 36 years old, a housewife, and mom to 3 teens with autism. I just started going to school online at SNHU for a BS in Accounting and Finance with a minor in International Business, but I am still torn up about my degree. I just completed my first term at SNHU. I've had credits transferred from High School and my previous University from 17 years ago. I am also completing several general courses through Sophia Learning. My career plans are that I want to eventually live and work abroad with my 3 children, preferably in Europe, especially the UK. I want a business career, but I'm undecided on the specialty: accounting, finance, or international business. I have narrowed down my choices to 3 or 4:
RE: Loose Degree Plan - Ideas - 12-21-2020 The last one seems better to me than the first because you can always leave off the concentration. In my opinion, work on one of the majors and decide about doing a second only when you're nearly done. Which has more UK job listings, accounting (audit) or financial planning? And which has more European (non-UK) job listings? I don't know which one has more listings, and I have had the hardest time researching this. RE: Loose Degree Plan - Cofffeee - 12-21-2020 U can always brunch out from ur major through cerfications- CPA, CFA, CMA and so on. Just finish degree and do certification in the field u prefer. It will give u more credibility than struggling to chose minor or major between those. And it will be easier to decide when u have few years pr at least year of experience in the industry RE: Loose Degree Plan - Littlerose84 - 12-21-2020 (12-21-2020, 12:39 AM)Cofffeee Wrote: U can always brunch out from ur major through cerfications- CPA, CFA, CMA and so on. RE: Loose Degree Plan - Cofffeee - 12-21-2020 Account and Fin will cover a lot and will meet a lot requirements fpr certification. Just to be careful check states requirements for CPA and try to cover all Accounting courses in degree. So u dont need to take extra accounting later. Not sure about 150 credit requirements- if u r going to cover it after finishing ur degree or during. CFA is easier with education requirements so i dont think it will be issue RE: Loose Degree Plan - Littlerose84 - 12-21-2020 (12-21-2020, 12:55 AM)Cofffeee Wrote: Account and Fin will cover a lot and will meet a lot requirements fpr certification.
