Withdrawing from TECEP / Enrollment - Seagull - 01-14-2021 If one registers for a TECEP and then withdraws for full refund, do you still stay enrolled for at least one year? Thus keeping the catalog? RE: Withdrawing from TECEP / Enrollment - rachel83az - 01-14-2021 No, if you get a refund then it doesn't count. Ok thanks, read it on other threads of others who withdrew. So they just let the course lapse without taking exam? I don't need it but it is an easy one. I just need it for enrollment. So even partial refund doesn't count towards enrollment I suppose
RE: Withdrawing from TECEP / Enrollment - P226mem - 01-14-2021 I let mine laspe without taking the exam and didn't ask for any refund. It served my purpose to be enrolled to get upper level courses added from sdc, and others. I wasn't ready to take sos110 right away because I was finishing UL elsewhere. I thought of it as an extra fee for that advantage to me and trimmed budget in other areas for a few weeks. If I attempt the exam and do not pass it won't affect my GPA, I believe, so might as well attempt it. My main reason is to preserve the catalog for one more year. I may find use for that course transferring it to COSC. From my understanding, the application expires every three years but enrollment is yearly and the catalog follows the enrollment time. Correct? Whether you pass or fail (or don't take the course) it won't affect your GPA, because they don't give a grade - it's listed as "CR" on the transcript if you pass. I haven't heard that the application expires every 3 years - but it doesn't matter. Enrollment and what catalog you're in are what matters, so make sure to sign up for a TECEP once a year. You can do the 1cr Medical Terminology TECEP so it's only $50. I withdrew from my TECEP but did so after the deadline for refunds. I remained enrolled after doing so. But it didn't really matter too much since I really only took the TECEP to get my final credits evaluated so I could register for the capstone, which I started two months later. |
