Hola Amigo! I'm just going to reply with similar info I have in my private message response to you. Do the following credits before you apply to COSC. Do the CSM Learn course, I highly recommend getting a second monitor and doing a majority of your courses through Sophia.org, do all of them for $149/year, this will get you over 90 credits. You need to decide on taking 24 credits that are from a community college such as NMJC, or a partnership such as TEL Learning, or as an exam such as TECEP/UExcel.

Thank you for the recommendation. How do I know what 24 community college credits do I need? I’m asking too for my son, he has some college credits right now.

What does he already have? General education credits are the safest bet (things like math, English, science). COSC in particular requires a science class with a lab. If your son doesn't already have that covered, TEL Learning has chemistry, biology, or physical sciences with a lab for only $267: ]https://www.tellearning.org/courses-on-demand/?filters=product_tag[47]

Have you looked at the courses COSC requires for the Foreign Language requirements?  I don't think they're easy to meet. https://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/current/subject_area_concentrations/foreign_language.php

And, the cheapest way to bring in foreign language credits is to take the ACTFL exams through LTI - you can do the OPIc (oral) and WPT Internet (writing) exams for $108 each and if you pass with the high score, you get 6cr of UL and 6cr of UL for EACH exam.  24cr for $216 is a steal ($9/cr), and all from the comfort of your own home.  Unfortunately, COSC won't give you any credit for these exams because it's not on their Preferred Provider list.  So you'd be better off with a school that will give you credit for these, or one that has an inexpensive program (not sure which one that is).

EC has a BALS that would work, except that they've gotten rid of their AoF, so you can't list Spanish on your transcript - it's a bummer, since it would have worked perfectly.

Oh, TESU also has a Foreign Language degree. Their requirements would also be difficult to meet with the exception that they do take the ACTFL exams for the actual foreign language credits: https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/foreign-language

Would all 12 credits satisfy a BALS at TESU with no concentration? Would they all apply towards the AoS? And top it off with the 3 UL at TEEX? To reach 15 credits (5 courses)?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Yes, you can use the ACTFL language tests to get a BALS at TESU.

If all 12 UL satisfy the required 4 UL courses for the BALS? And with TEEX UL course (3credits) you get the 5 UL courses needed for the BALS

You can get 6 lower level credits by taking a Uexcel Spanish language exam if near a testing center.  That should count as regional credit which Is important since you will need at least 24 total regional credits for COSC.  I took it and it cost $110 for the exam, $55 for the administration fee at the testing center and $20 technological fee.  That's $185 for one exam but results in  6 credits total which is really good, quick and cheap!  These would overlap/duplicate the cleps so you would need to see which is more beneficial...... Cleps give you more credits but not RA credits.
