Change of Plans-best way to proceed? - MDW2447 - 02-12-2021

Plans have changed and my husband and I are opening a coffee shop, so I'm being realistic and assuming that I'm not going to be focused on classes this year.

I have an uncompleted ALEKS Behavioral Stats class from December 2020, and also registered for Applied Math TECEP for this term, which I have not taken yet.

I'd like to wrap everything up in a "clean" way--meaning, I don't want to regret any decision I make now if/when I do come back to this path.

-Do we know yet if ALEKS was renewed? If so, I should probably complete that class. (About 70% complete, did not pass my first exam attempt)
-Assuming I need to take and pass the TECEP since I've registered for it, or it will show up negatively on TESU transcript, correct?

Mostly, just looking for a second opinion...
Thx!

Behavioral Stats expired at the end of 2020: https://www.acenet.edu/National-Guide/Pages/Course.aspx?org=ALEKS+Corporation+(McGraw+Hill)&cid=75cbb0af-82c4-ea11-a812-000d3a33232a There's a good chance that it will come back and be renewed (it was already extended once because it originally expired mid-2020) but this has not happened yet.

You don't have to take the TECEP. It will not show up on your transcript. You might want to, since you already paid for it, but it will not cause any future issues if you decide to just use it to keep your current catalog.

I would do the TECEP, it is the EASIEST math exam ever if you've taken anything higher - it's basically Algeba 1 + some additional real-world math like percentages. Even if you fail (I doubt you will if you've completed 70% of an ALEKS course), it will just show up as NC on your transcript. Not factored into your GPA, and if a different school were to look at it, they wouldn't now if you failed or just didn't take the exam. Basically they would just ignore it.

I'm pretty sure that TESU stopped the NC thing on transcripts? I remember it being mentioned a couple of months ago. It may depend on your catalog year, though.

I can't remember (my catalog was 2015).

So either they say NC, or they say nothing. Net result is the same - nothing to worry about.
