DSST Principles of Public Speaking - UL? - bjcheung77 - 05-31-2021

Hmm, interesting... I thought it was lower level.  I just looked up the DSST options for transfer to TESU and it shows this as an upper level COM-309 Advanced Public Speaking.  Was this course upper level last year, was it always upper level? I don't recall...  Too bad they changed the Upper Level History of the Soviet Union to Lower Level last year, otherwise, that would have been a good option too.

Anyways, If that is the case, you can use this DSST as part of the AOS for a BALS with no specific concentration.  In addition to this, they have a Money & Banking DSST exam.  This remains Upper Level as a ECO-332 Money and Banking at TESU.  This will also work for a BALS as well, I would search the boards for anything that interests you, it doesn't have to be an exam either.

For those seeking a cheap/easy/fast option for the BALS, and if they're not sure which concentration and is "OK" with no concentration, or a Humanities concentration, these two UL DSST exams fit the bill for 6 UL credits for cheap.  If you couple that with say two Davar courses (MIS & Org Behavior) at $99 + $30 proctor fee and the TEEX Death Investigation course at $75.  You've just completed the Area of Study Upper Level requirements for a BALS.

According to this archived page ( https://web.archive.org/web/20200421163611/https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/dsst ), Principles of Public Speaking has "always" been UL.

This was ACE-recommended as LL from 11/1/2013-7/31/2018, and then became UL on 8/1/2018.

TESU changed it to COM-309 (UL) at some point along the way, but I don't remember ever hearing about it or seeing it.
