Interest Rate Conversions, DSST P. of Finance - mstcrow5429 - 04-16-2008 Am I going to need to know how to convert interest rates, effective to nominal interest rates and nominal to effective interest rates? I'm trying to figure these out on Chapter 6, "Compounding and Interest Rate Conversion" of "Corporate Finance Demystified," it's a seven page chapter, it does a horrible job of explaining things, and I don't know where else to learn this if I need it for the exam. Thanks. Edit: Nevermind, I found out my HP 10BII financial calculator does this rather easily. The book says it would be be inaccurate when there isn't temporal congruence, but can't imagine the exam expects heavy algebra competency. And I just found that the calculator does have a function that can adjust for non-temporal congruence. Interest Rate Conversions, DSST P. of Finance - Farmerboy - 04-16-2008 I don't think that I had any questions on that, most of the math related questions were calculating compound interest. The test may have changed but I would say don't worry about it! Farmerboy |
