UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - frostibb - 08-02-2021 Hi everyone I am considering umpi as my backup plan for TESU. I have completed a lot of classes for TESU but they are now saying they refuse to accept my upper level database management class as upper level because my previous school did not use the same titling system as they do, so they want to put my actual lower level database class(I took two classes one upper and lower) as higher than my upper level database class. I gave them the course description and they told me to go to the dean. If I list the courses I've taken can someone tell me how many classes I might have left in the bba project management? Thank you. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - rachel83az - 08-02-2021 I'm not saying that UMPI isn't a good school but if the only thing keeping you from TESU is the UL/LL DB course, I would just take Comp Sci 303 at SDC. It's extremely easy for an UL CS course. But if you want a more informed opinion regarding UMPI & your classes, it would help if you included both the college name and the course numbers from the previous school. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - ss20ts - 08-02-2021 Was your previous college RA? Your attachment doesn't really make any sense. It looks like you're trying to fill in the UMPI courses with what you've already taken? A spreadsheet works much better. No one can 100% say how your previous college courses will transfer to UMPI as we are not the Registrar who determines transfer credits. Are you looking at the BABA with Project Management Concentration at UMPI? We don't need the list of UMPI courses. We already know those. We need what you've completed with course number, course name, number of credits, and grades to let you know what you have remaining. What was the college you attended? They are all regionally accredited except for the ace courses, oakton community college and NMJC. The purpose of the attachment is only to show the courses that I have taken and the courses I need to take. It helps me to see them side by side to keep track of them. I will have to go and get my unofficial transcripts to find the course numbers. Almost all my grades are A's and B's and one C. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - ss20ts - 08-02-2021 It's rare that a community college course will transfer in as UL at most schools. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - bjcheung77 - 08-02-2021 I've never seen a community college course transfer in as upper level yet, I don't recall. So I think you're referring to an intro course and a subject matter course above the intro level. That doesn't mean it's upper level versus lower level... it just means first year course and second year course. In fact, some intro courses could be developmental or remedial in nature and only work at the vocational programs. In short, community college is only the first two years of a 4 year college/university, all will be lower level. Those courses came from an actual university not a community college, I forgot to include it on my sheet. I have gone to two year and actual universities that offer upper level classes. I believe they truly do place them in by the course name, my fundamental web development came in as upper level at TESU even though it is lower level at the university I took it at. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - ss20ts - 08-02-2021 Do a spreadsheet of what you've taken and from where along with the questions I asked above and I can help with UMPI. Okay thank you, I will try to collect all the course numbers. RE: UMPI BBA Project Management degree plan help and question - bjcheung77 - 08-07-2021 Just picking your brain, do you have tuition assistance or reimbursement? Do you have a budget/fund setup for school? If you have RA credits already, the Big 3, including COSC, Excelsior, might be a very good option. For Competency Based Degrees, there are options such as Brandman (UMASS Global), WGU, etc. I would usually recommend UMPI if you have past a "threshold" of ACE credits at a certain time frame... for example, you completed X credits in X months. If you pass that threshold, it would be financially beneficial for UMPI over the Big 3... otherwise, UMPI would cost more in the long run - this is especially true if you have other commitments such as family, kids, work, etc. |
