Target Paying For Employees Degrees - natshar - 08-06-2021

I'm surprised no one else posted about this since there was a Walmart thread. Anyways, a few days ago, Target announced it would be offering debt free college to its employees. They are using Guild education same provider Walmart and Taco Bell use among others, but they might offer different programs and schools than those companies. Additionally, they will cover a portion of other out of network schools as well including graduate school.

Target starts its pay at $15/hr for all employees. Plus many of the schools in the Guild network accept CLEP and some accept even ACE so this could be a good way to get a degree for some. With ACE, CLEP and prior credits then do the rest of the degree while working at Target at no cost to you.

The grad school part sounds interesting, says they will pay up to $10,000 a year for grad school. I'm not sure how that works but might be a good option for people on this board.

Not sure when this new program will take affect and how to qualify. But it seems like a good opportunity. A quick google search will bring up more info.

That's what I found in the article.

They are "free" (employer-paid is probably the better word) through others in the Guild program as well; I think they're the only school that does not have an annual dollar max (like $5250/yr); this is how my kid is going to school. No up-front fees, no books, 100% free for her to go which is very nice.

Reviving this thread to see if anyone is using Target's college benefit program?

I was able to get a list of the colleges covered but not the individual programs. May be worth it to take a part time job at target if they'll cover all or part of a master's program I'm interested in(or a good program for a second bachelor's). Anyone have more details?
