Boot camps - Pats20 - 09-13-2021
I came across this in my in box. I’m putting it out there in case someone may be interested. It’s pretty expensive at $12 grand but it’s coming from a good name. https://bootcamp.berkeley.edu/about/

$12k? Ouch. I would rather spend $8k on a TESU degree and spend the other $4k on either a Master's or a few well-regarded certificates. Berkeley is a good name but I'm not sure it's worth that much for just a bootcamp.

12k is actually inexpensive for a bootcamp. I'm well versed in bootcamps of all types. I'm a bootcamp graduate even. However, college bootcamps typically aren't as good of a turnout as a top name bootcamp. A lot of colleges hopped on the Bootcamp bandwagon and are pretty useless. Berkely not as much as others, but I still wouldn't go to it personally.

Absolutely. I wouldn’t want anyone to do this over a bachelors or masters But for someone fresh out of undergrad who hasn’t made up their minds yet on whether grad school is in their near future. Maybe ??

Bootcamps have positives over degrees and degrees have positives over bootcamps. I feel both combined is ideal. I'd still pay $20k again for a bootcamp even with me now getting a BSSD for <$4.5k

There are income sharing bootcamps that don't require graduates to pay until they get hired and earn a minimum salary. Then, a percentage of their earnings will go toward paying down the tuition balance.

I'm fine with the income sharing boot camps. They have a vested interest in seeing you succeed. The others usually just want your money.

A boot camp is the most effective way to learn information quickly.
However, it is still up to you to put in the effort and some boot camps don't offer enough value for what you pay for.
