Taking spanish at instacert - harrit - 10-09-2021

Has anyone taken the spanish course with instacert and transferred it into UMPI? When signing up there are two options, one for clep and one for instacert credit? Which one should you take for transferring into UMPI?

You should take the Instacert Spanish course if you are a beginner at Spanish.

You only take the CLEP if you took a course in Spanish in school, and you have no trouble understanding speech when people speak Spanish.  Otherwise, you could study for the Spanish CLEP for 80hrs and still end up failing it.

The Instantcert you could do in under 2 weeks.  The course will challenge you a bit but is manageable.  Use Quizlet to drill the vocabulary.

Yes, I used the instacert course for my Spanish 101 credit at UMPI. Since I already have some remedial Spanish skills it only took a couple of days. I wish there was a Spanish 2 course/test!

I took their Spanish I Ace credit course to fulfill my UMPI’s foreign language requirement. It transferred in without a problem and it was painless. I finished it within 2 days but I’m fluent in Spanish. It also incorporates culture not just language. I will say if you took any type of Spanish in High School it helps since it’s similar as it incorporates Spanish from Spain (Castilian). I had to remember a lot of terms that I don’t normally use every day.
