Business Core at Study.com - BigDaddy1 - 11-11-2021

I am trying to help my step daughter finish up a business degree with EC.  She has a lot of gen ed done already from traditional regionally accredited colleges.  However, still lacking the following.  As I am trying to set up a plan, I have some questions:

Has anyone been able to confirm which Business core courses from study.com would fulfill the following at Excelsior?
EC—>Study.com?
Bus 431 Business Data Analysis (UL) (*Maybe Computer Science 302?)
Bus 341 Management Concepts and Applications (UL)
Bus 350 Principles of Finance (UL) (*Maybe Finance 301 Corporate Finance?)
Bus 435 International Business (UL) (*Maybe Business 308?)
Bus 351 marketing Concepts and Applications (UL) (*Maybe Marketing 308?)

I am thinking that the following WOULD work for transfer to EC
Study.com—>EC
Business 310–>BUS 323 Business Ethics (UL)
Business 307–>BUS 311 Organizational Behavior (UL)
Accounting 102–>ACC 212 Managerial Accounting (LL)
Business 113–> BUS 222 Business Communication (LL)
Any problems with above??

Also, planning to use Sophia for the following:
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Financial Accounting
Business Law
Project Management (as one of the business electives)
Intro to Information Technology (**Will this work for IT 221 Introduction to Computers?)

Also, I am assuming there is not a course that would fulfill Business Statistics—planning to use Straighterline for that.

Thoughts, input greatly appreciated!!

I can't really help with EC, but have you already seen the SDC transfer tool? https://study.com/college/school/excelsior-college.html It looks like, if you don't NEED the UL credit, business 108 would also fill the Business Ethics requirement.

Thanks, yes—that is what I was using.  It is just not as clear as COSC is for what transfers as what.  I already came up with a plan for her for COSC, and I am going to work on a degree plan for TESU.  But, EC was more difficult to see how it would actually transfer over based on the core needed for EC’s Bachelor of Science in Business degree:

*At least 21 upper level business credits required out of a minimum of 51 business credits)
BUS 323 Business Ethics (UL)
ECO 260 Introduction to Microeconomics (*I believe this falls in gen ed classes—not specific BUS class)
ECO 262 Introduction to Macroeconomics (*I believe this falls in gen ed classes—not specific BUS class)
College Algebra or above
BUS 233 Business Statistics
BUS 311 Organizational Behavior (UL)
BUS 431 Business Data Analysis (UL)
ACC 211 Financial Accounting
ACC 212 Managerial Accounting
BUS 230 Business Law
IT 221 Introduction to Computers
BUS 222 Business Communications
BUS 341 Management Concepts and Applications (UL)
BUS 351 Marketing Concepts and Applications (UL)
BUS 350 Principles of Finance (UL)
BUS 435 International Business (UL)
BUS 499 Strategic Management CAPSTONE (UL at EC only)

I would keep my options open, it's great you're creating multiple plans just in case something comes up... get her to continue on accumulating credits and since she has the RA credits (if over 24 credits), then COSC/TESU would be options... I would also recommend the competency based degree options if she doesn't have many commitments...

You need to check out Study.com's agreement with Excelsior. This is how Study.com courses transfer to EC. Some are not what you're hoping for. Same for Sophia.

Here is how Sophia transfer's to EC.

I went back through the catalog and read more closely.  It appears that the courses do not *have* to be each of these.  Apparently, this is a sample of the degree.  As such, I was able to use the study.com and others to better map out a plan.  :-)

I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Professinal Studies-Business and Management from Excelsior. Please post what RA classes she has taken and from where. What business degree is she looking at? I will see what I can help with. I can email an excel template I have.
She can take Sophia- Principle of Finance. My advisor stated it would fulfill the 3 credits in Finance.
