Non Western UL History Course Needed - vetvso - 02-17-2022 I'm not normally at a loss for finding history courses I need but there is a first time for everything. I'm looking for a UL non-western history course. Starting in March timeframe. I'm open to testing out but I don't think there is a test for this anymore. I also thought about putting a PLA together and requesting the credit for the course since I have read, lived, and studied in several parts of Asia. I might be able to find enough proof but I would prefer to take an online class in Ancient or classical history. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - rachel83az - 02-17-2022 We don't currently know of any affordable ancient/classical non-western history classes. What we do know about is here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sample_TESU_BA_History_Degree_Plan RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - vetvso - 02-17-2022 (02-17-2022, 05:21 AM)rachel83az Wrote: We don't currently know of any affordable ancient/classical non-western history classes. I have already taken some and they didn't allow them for non-western. I will ask to see if that is still the case since that would be easy. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - rachel83az - 02-17-2022 It depends on the Russian history, perhaps? The same reason why History of the Vietnam War doesn't count as non-western history. But the Russian ones listed have previously been used as non-western history at TESU. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - BSLIONS - 02-18-2022 HIS-379 Latin American History and Politics at Olivet being UL and RA is one I can't pass up. It transfers as HIS-333 Modern Latin American History at TESU. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - Murdockb - 02-21-2022 TESU pre-approved HIS-379 Latin American History and Politics at Olivet under the Non-Western History category on my daughter's academic evaluation. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - dfrecore - 02-21-2022 Non-western/non-US History is history from any of these areas: Africa, Asia, Latin American, Middle East (the old website showed this, the new one does not). Not sure about Russian History, I think they did accept that before - the issue may be that the DSST is now LL Vietnam war is about the war from the US perspective, which is why TESU won't accept it. We know for sure that the ONU Latin American History course works for this requirement and is UL. RE: Non Western UL History Course Needed - rachel83az - 02-21-2022 Theoretically, you can do a LL Non-Western History and still get the degree. For instance, Russian DSST, everything UL at SDC, World Conflicts Since 1900 UExcel. Personally, I think just doing the ONU course would be easier. Yes - it's mostly a matter of getting those UL credits, so if you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, you're better off. |
