Have you checked out the associate degree from Pierpont? You'll need some RA credit for it. Looks like so far everything you have is from Sophia and CLEP?

CLEP credits are good "forever" (barring individual university policies).

I would suggest the FREE Pierpont BOG AAS. If you follow these recommendations, you'll be on your way to getting a business degree at UMPI: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_to_UMPI_Degree_Plan Do you have any RA credit (credit from an actual school)? If not, I would suggest a course from ONU for $150: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Olivet_Nazarene_University Pick one that isn't the same as what you already have from Sophia. Another possible option, though more expensive at $425 per course, would be an ASU course: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Arizona_State_University_Universal_Learner Their next round of courses start March 15th. Finally, there is TEL Learning. They are only $200 per course, each course has 2 proctored exams: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/TEL_Learning

UMPI has papers instead of exams for most classes. These are short papers, usually 3-4 pages. For business, you might have to do spreadsheets or powerpoint projects instead of papers. Do not apply to UMPI until you have all of your credits gathered. If you finish in 2-3 terms (4-6 months), your cost at UMPI would be $2800 or $4200 + the cost of the other credits you bring in.

If papers/projects aren't your thing, you could spend a bit more on a degree from TESU, COSC, or Excelsior. I would recommend TESU or Excelsior over COSC, for a variety of reasons.

Thank you for the response. I don't have any RA credits just the sophia and clep. How many RA credits do I need for an associates degree?

For the Pierpont BOG AAS recommended above, 12 RA credits (at least 1 of which must be graded) are required: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C&TC

Actually, while you OFFICIALLY need 12 credits, as of right now, you only need a single graded RA credit to obtain the degree. So get whatever single RA course is cheapest and easiest (TECEP exams and UExcel exams do NOT count), with the understanding that they MIGHT ask for more RA credit.

Your Spanish CLEP exam still counts. 9cr there (SPA-101, 102, and 201 at TESU).

I would do an ONU course, possibly College Comp I, which can then be taken to practically any school. It will help at Pierpont for the AAS, as well as UMPI, TESU, COSC or EC. It will also help with future papers you'll need to write.

I might also take an ACTFL exam to get some additional ACE credit for Spanish - the OPIc can be worth up to 12cr (6 UL and 6 LL), depending upon how fluent you are. While I don't think it will make a huge difference for UMPI, it will for TESU and EC.

CLEP credits don’t technically expire. But the College Board only keeps your transcripts on record for 20 years after you take the exam.

Depends how much you have saved up for your budget. Your commitments determine your amount of energy/time you can dedicate to this journey and other things such as school, work, etc Decide on the school/degree, Big 3 for max transfer or competency based degree options such as UMPI/WGU, etc. I suggest Excelsior since you're in NY and you can transfer 113 alternative credits.

I have a question about the ASU 1 credit Business Technology Fundamentals class: I paid $25 to make it credit eligible, I’ve completed the class so now I have to pay $400 to add it to my transcript? I just want to make sure this is correct before paying. Thank you!
