Ancient Greek - At Your Own Pace, looking for more Latin - Library2HospitalChaplain - 05-16-2022

I have a teen who taught themselves enough Ancient Greek for reading the Iliad and the histories of Alexandros, Alexander the Great.

Randolph College has Ancient Greek I and II in both 4 credit summer intensives and 1 credit At Your Own Pace in semesters. Tuition for all undergraduate courses is $375 per credit hour if you want to learn Ancient Greek in either fashion.

https://online.randolphcollege.edu/greek/ https://amyrcohen.com/courses/

I thought I would add this as an obscure credit option for anyone trying to learn "the classics" of education.

I'm doing Biblical Hebrew through TAL Programs, Languages, Lashon HaKodesh Elementary 8 credits for $400 https://talprograms.org/languages/ and Coopersmith after I pass that exam Languages, Intermediate Biblical Hebrew (BIH-255) 3 credits for $150.00, https://www.coopersmithcc.net/shop/

Since TEL Learning is about to archive their Latin course, https://www.tellearning.org/product/latn-2105-latin-i/, does anyone know of another source for Latin credits as well?

Logos.com has a number of resources for students of Latin, Greek, and Biblical Hebrew. Some of them are way too expensive, though! Their "Biblical Languages: Foundational Certificate Program" is almost $800 and you don't even get college credit for it. Some things that may be worth it include:
A Dictionary of English Grammar for Students of Biblical Languages
A Dictionary of Biblical Languages w/ Semantic Domains (Greek)
Diachrony in Biblical Hebrew
Biblical Hebrew Syntax: A Linguistic Introduction
A Graded Reader of Biblical Hebrew
A Graded Reader of Biblical Greek
Basics of Biblical Hebrew Grammar
And more...

If you go for a degree from NationsU, they have Biblical Hebrew and Biblical Greek available: https://nationsu.edu/catalog/curriculum/#undergraduate-coursesgeneral-education Unfortunately, they don't have Latin. They're also Nationally Accredited, so might not be able to transfer the credit elsewhere if you desire to do so.

Kairos University is both NA and RA. They have graduate-level Greek & Hebrew (but no Latin) "Learning Experiences": https://kairos.edu/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/KU-Catalog-2021-2022.pdf For $300/mo, you can pursue a graduate certificate that includes 3 graduate-level courses of your choice: https://kairos.edu/academics/programs/graduate-certificate-in-theological-studies/ I think that includes the "Learning Experiences" of Greek & Hebrew. You'd have to contact them to be sure.

Non-credit sources for learning Latin:

https://ancientlanguage.com/learn-latin/ $700+ for each course
https://www.time4learning.com/curriculum/foreign-language/latin-language-learning.html For students who haven't yet graduated from HS. $30/mo + $60 for 6 months' access to the language courses.
https://legacy.kolbe.org/courses/selfpaced/junior-high-school/language/scf-05ltn1/ and also https://legacy.kolbe.org/courses/selfpaced/high-school/foreign-language/scf-09ltn1/ Another homeschool resource. $500 per level, up to 1 year to finish each level.
https://tabella.ie/ Free.
https://lrc.la.utexas.edu/eieol/latol Free, apparently not really for beginners. Other languages available, too.
https://classics.osu.edu/Undergraduate-Studies/Latin-Program/Grammar Free grammar resource.
https://www.scholarosaonline.com/store/#!/Classical-Languages/c/8803473 Latin workbooks, primers, and readers geared towards HS students. Also, classes (again, for young students) at $450/level.

Credit sources for Latin (may not be self-paced):

https://clas.ucdenver.edu/modLang/programs/online-courses You can apply as a non-degree-seeking student https://clas.ucdenver.edu/advising/new-students/non-degree-students Should be $571/credit: https://www.ucdenver.edu/student-finances/tuition-fees/undergraduate But you will initially be billed $1000/credit: https://www.ucdenver.edu/student-finances/tuition-fees#ac-out-of-state-online-only-oosoo-5
https://www.idiomaconsulting.com/collections/latin How to TEACH Latin. Cost depends on what credit option you want.
https://sites.austincc.edu/fola/ Austin Community College offers 2 Latin courses. http://www6.austincc.edu/schedule/index.php?op=browse&opclass=ViewSched&term=222U000&disciplineid=PCFON&yr=2022&ct=CC ~$353/credit https://www.austincc.edu/students/tuition-and-payments/tuition-table?ref=ddm
