English 2 CLEP - Jennr2z - 05-24-2022

Hello-
Can you tell me what CLEP test would cover for English 2, Eng 121 @ UMPI?
Thanks!

I wonder if this would satisfy? I would of course get approval from Jessica beforehand.

Curious, Isn't there a webpage for UMPI CLEP exams and what they transfer things in as?
Wouldn't it be easier referencing that site instead of reviewing PDF files, unless it's current...

Yup, found it here https://www.umpi.edu/offices/testing-services/clep/ and it links to another document here: https://mycampus.maine.edu/c/document_library/get_file?uuid=5b90d446-d584-4906-86df-7d04f6799581&groupId=223854

If you get a 4 on the English Language & Composition AP exam, it covers both Eng 101 and Eng 121

Unfortunately, you can't really go back and take AP exams once you've graduated HS.

IRRC, it's theoretically possible. But reality and practicality concerns, coupled with safety, mean that most schools are not going to give permission to a random adult to come sit an AP exam with HS students.

How would an adult take an AP exam? They're for high school students. I don't see a high school allowing an adult to sit in on the exam with high school students. Many schools are basically in lockdown where even parents can't get into the main office without an appointment. For safety and security reasons I don't see high schools allowing random adults in with minors to take exams.

UMPI accepts the English Composition CLEP for English 101 & 121. There's no need for AP if you're an adult. You can take free classes at Modern States, which includes a voucher after you've passed. It covers a free CLEP exam and proctoring, either remotely or at a test center. I'm told the course can be completed in less than a day. Now that's a sweet deal!

Unless it's an adult education program with AP classes, which I've never heard of, 99% of high schools won't let you take an AP exam if you're over 21.
