Science plus lab alterantives for Study.com/StraighterLine - echo64 - 06-18-2022

I've been looking around but I'm surprised there aren't any alternatives for a science and lab course besides Study.com and STL anywhere else. Does anyone know of a few that would for example meet the science and lab portion at UMPI or Excelsior?

If you're okay with paying more, ASU Universal Learner program has some science courses that would work. I wouldn't do chemistry, but they have other 4-credit science courses.

Study.com will be the cheapest, because you can take that science w/lab course AND another course for the $199/mo membership + $60 for the virtual lab. Total of $259 for 2 courses.

SL is $99/mo + $59 for the bio course + $49 for the bio lab course + $87 for the lab kit (+ shipping fees) = $294 for 1 "course."

ASU UL is $25 for the course + $400 for the transcript = $425

Also keep in mind that Study is a month plus up to 4 months for the lab (without paying for extra time); SL is for a single month; and ASU is an 8-week course with specific dates.

The fee for Labster is up to $69 now, although if you're signing up with a new account at Study.com, it's 30% off the first three months, so only $140:

Yup, I highly recommend going with Study.com instead of anything else, there is Portage Learning but that'll be the most expensive of all. There are many sources if you check the wiki, it all depends how much you're wanting to pay and how long you're wanting to take the courses. If you want to do an online course from a community college, try NMJC, it's about or close to $400 as well, just like ASU. Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sources_of_Credit

Many of the UC extension colleges have science with lab as well as Doane. Neither are cheap mind. Haven't found UL yet, the UC's confuse me with their numbering.

I wouldn't recommend the more expensive ones at this time, those are best used for the upper level and hard to find courses. Using alternative credit such as Study.com is best, unless you want the RA/Graded credits, go for the local community college or something like NMJC to keep your costs down.
