Univ of Utah, $5K/semester offer to Alumni - bjcheung77 - 07-26-2022

Wow! $5K/semester for Alumni to rent extra rooms to students! If a semester is 3 months, that's 1666/month, if it's 4 months, then you're at 1250/month.

Ouch, I didn't know so many people would be on a waitlist to get into student housing! Come to think of it, I remember people used to be in shared accommodations but with a private room.

Interesting though, I think they would get some traction and hopefully alleviate some of the wait for student housing. I wonder if two students per room would be too much? Use Bunkbeds!

When we were young, we bus to school, back in the old days, people biked to school, nowadays it's living at school... I know what can help, students are like sardines, stuff them into rooms! (or not, back to the drawing board I go)

Link: The University of Utah says it will pay alumni $5,000 per semester to rent any extra rooms to students as the waiting list for campus housing tops 3,500 (msn.com)

I'd honestly be absolutely willing to host a local college student at my house if payments to me are made by CalState. But, who am i kidding, CalState will build more prison dorms.
