Enrolled by Dec 31 - Sparklette - 12-13-2022
Ideas on schools where one can be officially enrolled in a degree or certificate program by Dec 31st? Not just a course, but program in pursuit of a degree or certificate. Preferably something not a complete waste of time/effort. Current top consideration is Ashworth College pharmacy tech program as it can at least be used for a semi-decent part time job locally.

You want to be enrolled and actively taking courses by the end of the year? Within 18 days? That's going to be tricky. Applications take awhile. Most schools don't start courses in December. Usually they start in January due to the holidays. What courses do you already have? What degree are you looking for? The pharmacy tech program isn't really going to open doors for you. It's not like you'll become a pharmacist. You'll be able to work at the counter checking people out to pay for their prescriptions. You actually don't need a degree to do that in many areas. Those positions aren't well paid typically unfortunately.

Do you already have an Associate degree? What are you hoping to do/when do you want to graduate by? Why the December 31st deadline?

It's for a 19 y/o that has been taking prerequisites to gain admission to an RN program. He recently finished fall semester and submitted his grades for reimbursement per outside arrangements and was told he needed to be enrolled in a degree or certificate program or no dice. I don't have the official wording, but it's part of a divorce decree where he only gets support through 22 if actively enrolled in a degree program.
The prereq program doesn't give a certificate or degree.

The closest he's probably going to get is to apply to TESU and pay for a TECEP ASAP. He'll definitely be in applicant status before the 31st, but I don't think he'll count as fully enrolled until the 6th. I don't know of anywhere else that he could become a full student before the end of the year. It's the middle of the semester for most schools and CBE schools tend not to have rolling enrollment. Everyone generally starts on the first of the month (sometimes the first of every other month).

Is he just randomly taking classes somewhere? Is he at a community college? If he is, his best bet would be to apply and enroll and see if this would count since he already completed courses there. This situation sounds really messy. I don't see how he can enroll anywhere in the next 18 days.

Enquire what kind of certificate would count. Real schools probably can't happen that fast, but something from Coursera, or a similar online provider might show as enrolled that quickly.
If this had popped up a month ago, it would have been no problem.

They do have a general studies degree, and once enrolled in the program they could later transfer to where they want to attend
