I failed two classes… - Getthatpaper - 12-26-2022 Well it happened…I passed 8 of the required 10 classes to graduate, I failed Dr. stummes strategic communication final by one part of the rubric, he was a good sport about it, theb the BIO 105 debacle, that professor doesnt give a flip about you, your schedule or if you materials later etc, and extremely picky. Before anyone takes off on me, I was in, registered and enrolled before I found this forum so please dont tell me how O shouldnt have taken it at UMPI, I cant un do it at this point, so Im back again in spring I really hope I can get it knock out on the new platform. RE: I failed two classes… - rachel83az - 12-26-2022 Oh no! I hope you're at least able to get a passing grade on BIO105. I found that he was very specific in the draft notes, so I just changed everything to do it the way he recommended and so we able to pass. For the BIO class.....even doing it via Study.com is a long journey. I'm on quiz 38 of of 137 total, then the lab then the final. I wish you well in the new year and session! Just for clarity on Dr. Stummes Strategic Communication, did you fail the class or fall short on the final, as mentioned in the text above? You can still pass a course without receiving a Mastery (3 stars+) on each rubric section. For example, you can receive all fours, and one section receives two, and though it will not be a Mastery, you will pass the course with a B+ or an A- if a professor is in the holiday spirit. If you have already received your grades, you have the answer; however, if you have not, circle back and confirm what you received, as you might be surprised by how it turns out. RE: I failed two classes… - ss20ts - 12-27-2022 Have you actually received your grades or are you basing this on the rubric? Did you submit rough drafts and make the noted changes before the final submission? You could complete the lab science with Sophia or Study and transfer it to UMPI. This may leave you with another course to complete at UMPI and the failing grade would remain on your transcripts. It will remain even if you repeat the course. That science course is brutal. It's far too complicated for an online course. RE: I failed two classes… - Getthatpaper - 12-29-2022 Yes i did fail both classes, i passed my other nine (actually 8 but im telling myself 9 even though its not graded lol) im tapped out as far as where to take the bio 105 alternatives im jobless at the moment and have no money to take the class. I ran the last of my finances ragged trying to finish school to get a better job…i will figure it out heck i got this far lol I failed two classes… - amrly813 - 12-29-2022 If you have PayPal or Venmo, I can send you some money to take BIO 105 at study.com (a gift, not a loan). DM me if you're interested. DM me if you're interested. It's a very nice offer– a suggestion to save on the offering by paying for Sophia vs. Study. com for a month. This allows the OP to knock out the Science requirement for $99 with the Labster fee being waived through Sophia (or included in the monthly fee is the proper way to describe it). Intro to Chemistry & Intro to Chemistry Lab Not looking to spend you money and just sharing options that you may not be aware of. Also, the OP can confirm I would imagine the Sophia or Study.com fee is not the hurdle, and the $1,400 term is. To the OP, with your financial situation, have you applied for Federal Aid as you may qualify for some assistance? I would suggest reaching out to the Aid department to review your options. It might not help as much as a Bachelor's degree, but it might help some. If you don't qualify for financial aid, you've got more than enough credits for Pierpont's FREE BOG AAS. You'd have to pay for transcripts, but it's otherwise free. But that one takes a while to get awarded, so it might not be super useful to you right now. Another possibility would be to start applying for jobs with your (new) anticipated graduation date. I.E., put something like: Graduation summer 2023 UMPI, Presque Isle, ME Bachelor of Arts in Dog Walking IIRC, UMPI allows you to take a one or two session break, as long as you discuss matters with them first. That would allow you to get a job to pay for your last class(es) so you can graduate for real. RE: I failed two classes… - allvia - 12-30-2022 I second KSoul's recommendation of Sophia for one month at $99 (might even be a coupon code out there to lower that), You can complete both the lab requirement with their 'Intro to Chemistry & Intro to Chemistry' Lab AND their Biology requirement (lab not needed) in a month. |
