I submitted an application along with $75 fee to TESC. I called today to find out about getting student loans in order and was told that I probably wouldn't be able to enroll until September because I couldn't enroll in classes until my evaluation is complete, which takes 4-6 weeks. I wanted to take 2 classes in August so that I could use student loans and get reimburse by my employer so that I could use that money to pay for my cleps. I don't know. Should I look into applying at EC?

I didn't use loans, so maybe that makes the difference, but when I enrolled last year I registered for two classes before my eval was done.

Well, you won't be able to enroll until your financial aid evaluation is done- maybe that's what they were talking to you about. I hate the TESC financial aid lady (I won't use her name, but there is only one- so, it's really no mystery). I got screwed a little too- I paid my enrollment fee out of pocket trying to get in on June classes in 07, and the financial aid process took too long, my first classes were in August. (never mind that I applied to TESC and for financial aid 6 months prior). The problem, is my enrollment period ended in June, while my classes end in July. (so, yes, it costs me more money) They billed me in May (early) which means I have to undo the mistake and who knows if/when it will get worked out. Long story short- TESC owes me $1300. It'll probably be 2009 before I get it.

Just get it going. The financial aid overages will come back to you, it just might be in a different schedule, but really- don't let this be the brick wall that stops you. (remember, brick walls are for other people) It's money, but it's just money- and don't let that stop you. Sell something on ebay, have a yard sale, skip the Starbucks. Pay for your CLEP and reimburse yourself when your overage comes in.

HAHA, She d*cked me one time too. Funny thing is I've talked to her 15 times and I have NO CLUE what her name is because you know she never says it! hilarious

I know her name (I wrote it down because I wanted a record of who I spoke to) but I won't say it on here because it's not really fair. Anyway, there's only one lady there so people will know hilarious
I'm enrolling in classes for July, and supposedly they're paying for my Enrollment fee out of the loan, but that hasn't happened so I may need to pay out of pocket and suck it up.
