Teex - How long for Credly badges to show up? - nyjosh - 01-03-2023

Hi all, I've been cranking through several of the free Teex courses the last couple of days and found out they don't instantly award badges in Credly like Sophia does.

Does anyone have an idea how long it takes? I got the end of course certificates for each one, but that's obviously not what I'm really looking for.

"To request your digital badge, contact Career Services and provide us with your name, TEEX ID number, and indicate the course(s) for which you would like badges issued. We will evaluate your training history, and if eligible, will issue your badge within 72 hours of your request."

nyjosh:  I can't get TEEX to issue a badge.  I've been waiting MUCH longer than the 72 hours they indicate on their site.

I sent an email a couple of weeks ago to the careerservices email address requesting an Acclaim/Credly badge, and never heard back from anyone.
There is another thread on this site that suggests sending an email to [email protected], so I sent one to them, and they forwarded my request (and copied me) back to the [email protected] email address again.  So far .... radio silence.

I am playing the waiting game again, hoping I hear back.  The forwarded email also cc'd someone named Hannah, so I plan to email her directly if I don't hear from the Career Services people in the next few days.  

It's frustrating because Sophia issues the badges so effortlessly, and TEEX is making it so difficult.  I am waiting for the ACE Credit so I can send to Pierpont for a BOG AAS with an IT emphasis.  I don't think I will take any more classes at TEEX if they're going to drag their feet like this.

Please let me know if you have any luck with them.   Huh

I'm guessing that since it's TAMU, that they're on vacation right now, and so you'll have to wait until school is back in session before you hear from someone.  Just a guess.  Fall semester ended Dec 16th, and Spring semester starts on Jan 17.

FYI, I emailed the Career services address and a couple others all at once asking for help getting the badges. I got the response below. Hopefully it'll help you as well!

I called and left a voicemail message today for Steve Robinson.  A few hours later, I received the exact same email message that you received.
As dfrecore said, they've probably been on winter break.  I guess now we just wait.
I'll post here if I receive my badge.

Did anyone receive their badges through Credly? Do you guys think these TEEX cyber courses would transfer to pierpont as a computer literacy course?

I emailed TEEX to ask for Credly badges for completed coursework, and they were posted by the same evening. Can't speak to the second question though, sorry.

Still no badges or even an email response from Tony or [email protected] / [email protected]. Is anyone else waiting on ACE Credit through TEEX?
