How to get all credits necessary. - Kwefi - 08-14-2023 Hello Fam, I Sent in credits from 2 Institutions and Sophia. I currently see only 80 Credits showing on the student center. What could be wrong with the rest? I'm just curious because it's pretty difficult getting a hold of my admissions counselor. It's 62 from Sophia, 12 from Arizona State Uni, and 18 from SNHU. All credits from Sophai is accepted, 12 from Asu is accepted and missing 12 out of the 18 expected from SNHU. RE: How to get all credits necessary. - ss20ts - 08-14-2023 Just because you took classes at SNHU doesn't mean that they'll transfer to UMPI. They don't accept every course. What courses didn't transfer that you were expecting to see. RE: How to get all credits necessary. - Kwefi - 08-14-2023 I'm not Sure. Inference to my question meant entitlement. But anyway, your question at the end was all that was needed. I hoped to have an introduction to communication, Popular Culture, Communication with diverse audiences, and Social Media Marketing brought in to at least make 90, even if they won't count towards the degree. I hope you get me now. RE: How to get all credits necessary. - Duneranger - 08-15-2023 Man you are hopping around all the online schools haha! RE: How to get all credits necessary. - rachel83az - 08-15-2023 Are your electives fully filled? The classes might have transferred, and show up on your eventual transcript, but you won't see them on your transfer report because there is no room. I am going for the Bls with a minor in management, and from the calculations, there should be some space, but since that's totally up to them, will see what they do. I will give updates. RE: How to get all credits necessary. - bjcheung77 - 08-15-2023 @Kwefi, Welcome to the board, good initial posts... I would check the WIKI and compare your current courses you have completed to the required courses and then work on the remaining courses from Sophia.org or another provider to get a max of 90 credits for transfer. Since you've applied, you should wait to have your evaluation/transfer credits completed to see where you stand and what is left to complete. Here's the WIKI with available plans so you can check them out or use as a guide: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI Last but not least... You should also create a spreadsheet to reference/track your progress, if you have any extra details to provide us, please do so by following the addendum/template here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works RE: How to get all credits necessary. - Kwefi - 12-20-2023 Hello, Fam. I wanted to provide an update on my process. Everything seemed slow from the admissions team and chancellors at first, but the outcomes were great. They did things from the back end on time, even though it would be great to get some responses to questions at times. My journey brief! My application, admission, and update correspondence lasted nine days, which I found to be faster than others. Fafsa and registration took the next few days about (3). I sent In, As stated, a total of 93 credits; the rest of the credits that prompted me to create this thread were also evaluated after, fortunately, getting the registrar to look at them. So, in all, all credits were accepted. But only 80 were applied to the degree. After the transfer credit report, I agreed to take about three extra courses in addition to the ten required, making a total of 13. This is because I have hopes of applying to law school, and I heard that for law and medical school, you could be considered when at least 60 credits are from an actual institution. In this case, I took a few classes from ASU and SNHU, so adding three extra courses puts me at 69 credits for my purpose. This is, in fact, true as I have been admitted to CWRU School of Law. I did nine courses in the first term and completed the remaining 4 (four) courses in fall II, which ended DECEMBER 15, 2023. Except for the delay in grading from some professors, this process could be deemed flawless. Please permit me to share a situation with one professor who took about 14 days to grade milestones. I sent her a message, prompting her how I intended to send her messages every hour until she grades my milestones. That evening, after several hourly messages, she released all three milestones. This indeed put me behind against my ten courses target. I knew I could not finish all 14 courses in a term, so I was OK with another term. I only needed her to grade so that I could move forward. Guys, Be prepared mentally; admission chancellors and academic coaches will ignore you(In the name of busy schedules, I had to argue with them; this institution should be instilling accountability in students and not the other way round. Just devise a plan and be ready to deal with such moments. Keep the prize in your eye. Finally, with a big smile, I got the award. Degree conferred very quickly, Summa Cum Laude, which I wasn't expecting, brought an enormous smile and rewarded the entire frustrations; suddenly, I don't remember any of those bad days. Classes ended 12/15/2023; all grades were posted on Sunday, Dec 17, 2023, and degrees conferred and awarded as of yesterday, Dec 19, 2023. Hello Fam, let's go for gold. Wishing you all the best. RE: How to get all credits necessary. - indigoshuffle - 12-20-2023 Good job! Congratulations!! I would be furious if a professor took 14 days to grade ANY assignment; not something I had to deal with at WGU. You essentially spent 1/4 of your time waiting for a grade, or put another way, ~$370. |
