POS 101 American Government on Brightspace - Infinite-Telephone52 - 09-26-2023
Hi Everyone. I want to add POS 101, American Government, before the session ends and I'm trying to determine if I'll have enough time. I know Dr. Z is the professor and I've heard that's good news, but has anyone taken it since the move to Brightspace? Many of the courses seem like alot more work now so I just want to be sure I'll have time to meet the draft deadline on Oct 10th. I won't be able to add it until Friday or Monday.

I haven't heard of anyone taking it on Brightspace. But, on Strut it was a nice class. Dr. Z gives incredible feedback ,and if he rejects your milestones he gives you very clear feedback on what to fix instead of being cryptic like most professors.

I know this post is older now, but I figured I would give feedback in case anyone else is wondering... Dr. Z always had my milestones graded within 24 hours or less. There are only three milestones, and the reading and content is very short. I had my first milestone submitted within a couple of hours of classes opening up for the term, and it was graded by the time I woke up for the day... If you are an American citizen who votes and understands the process of our government, you can absolutely get this class done within a few days - maybe even less for some people. The final is a 1500 word paper, and is also a breeze if you pay any attention to what is going on in the political scene. Thus far, I very much dislike Brigthspace, but this class made it seem not so bad.

I wish more professors were like Dr. Z he's so fast and whe he has an issue he's detailed in what he's looking for.

He literally grades 7 days a week. I haven't gotten any feedback but based on the time stamps I am pretty sure he actually reads them.

Commenting ... I think Dr. Z must be one of the most respected professors at UMPI. I see nothing but wonderful things about him. Very good quality feedback, fast grading, helpful on follow-up questions, encouraging, etc. He sounds like a great role model.
