Hi everyone, does Spanish I and II satisfy both GEC and history concentration requirements? Which means program just need 114 credits instead of 120 ? Thank you

@Ericfun3456, Welcome to the board, it's great you're asking questions and trying to find answers, it's best to provide an overall overview of your situation with better details. I highly suggest taking some time to review the posts, threads, WIKI after you go through the addendum and template here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works

To answer your question, COSC/UMPI and a few colleges or universities have what they call 'multiple requirements' that can be 'double dipped' by taking one class. Having said that, you still need to take X classes to fulfill all 120 credits, regardless of these requirements are double dip or not. That's what I mentioned in several recent posts, you need to follow through with the info on the WIKI plans.

Actually... That's the first part question, the second part question is, Answered with a "No". You need to have 120+ credits, many students have much more than 120 transferred, don't go for the bare minimum, use some extra just in case, especially when you do the trifecta of certs, degree, experience (a balanced mix/match), you'll get more credits and the extra ROI/Value.

Spanish 1 & 2 will fulfill the foreign language requirements in both the GEC and the BA in history/poli sci. The degree still requires a minimum of 120 credits. The credits are only counted once.
