Pierpont AAS for international student with incomplete degree - legarams - 05-15-2024 Hello, I am an international student based outside USA looking to get the Pierpont A.A.S to get an associates degree with an area of emphasis in Maths or Finance. I got pretty far with a mathematical statistics degree but was not able to complete it back in 2014. I sent my transcript to a naces evaluator and they gave me 108 credits with a 2.46 gpa, here are some of the subjects they evaluated. I would like to do a degree with one of the big three, or an american university but I cant afford that currently. I was wondering if the credits I have are overkill, and what more I would need to get the A.A.S. Any other advice based on what I have share is also welcome. I am not able/unwilling to return to my former university but I am in good standing. If you want better advice, you may want to fill out the rest of the template and addendum - you may want to indicate whether your credits were evaluated as lower-level or upper-level by the NACES evaluator: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-New-to-DegreeForum-How-this-Area-works For the Pierpont BOG AAS, you are in good shape for the count of credits, but may be missing 1 mandated area: Communications - Communications - 3 CR required: you can use Workplace Communication, Visual Communications, English I or English II at Sophia - Mathematics/Science - 6 CR required - you have more than enough credit for this. - Social Sciences - 3 CR required - your Economics classes will cover this area - Computer Literacy - 3 CR required - your Intro to Info Systems will cover this - 45 additional credits - you have all needed; you have more than sufficient credits for a Math area of emphasis Pierpont links: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_Areas_of_Emphasis RE: Pierpont AAS for international student with incomplete degree - bjcheung77 - 05-21-2024 @legarams, Awesome, that's a great intro post and exactly what I would recommend you to do as well. Get the Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis of your choice for now. When you have the energy, money, time to go for a Bachelors degree, transfer all the credits into UMPI BAS or BLS with a minor of your choice.
