Post your degree plans! - Sunshine - 07-27-2008

Hi everyone,

As a new member attempting to chart my course to a Bachelor's degree, it has been so helpful to see some of the plans that others are following. There are so many ways to earn credit, from the various exams, online classes, and through local community colleges. Of course, we all need to do our own research, but it would be great to have some examples to help inspire us!

Thanks!!

Hello Sunshine!

That's a great idea you had about us sharing our degree plans. I love to see what people have going on! I thought I'd be the first one to share so I've attached my sample degree plan for my BA in Liberal Studies at Thomas Edison State College (TESC).

Peace be with you all.

From a loyal degree seeker,

Marshall

P.S: I'm waiting on some general feedback on my degree plan. Some revisions may be in order but I WILL NOT be changing my major! And yes...that is my final answerhilarious !!!

I am about to finish up a Bachelors of Science in Professional Aeronautics with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Cleps/DSSTs have helped me save alot of time, especially being military and always gone. I love the school and programs. I need to take 5 more cleps in the next 2 1/2 weeks to grad, so I am pretty stoked!
Good luck with everything!

Good luck with that. You sound like a young person getting into aviation, while I am a mid-thirties person getting out! hilarious Remember, get into the fractional/corporate side of aviation, and stay away from the airlines!

Now,

This is obviously unofficial & has undergone numerous updates and continues to be changed almost daily. As I learn more about the program & get more info on the exams I change my plan.

Good Luck

Just curious as to why?

The airline business is brutal. I am 41 and have been laid off twice from Delta now. The highs are high, good money for a blue collar job, the lows are low, pay cuts and lay offs everytimethe economy faulters. Now with oil so high, it is even worse. Delta is hiring for many positions down in Atlanta but I dont want to go back to Atlanta or Delta. I am stil in the industry at GE but a different part not tied to one airline.

Me too. I'm still in the industry as a ground school/simulator instructor. I do still fly contract a few times a month to get my jollies, but now i'm here on this site looking to finish my degree, and see what else this earth has to offer.

Actually I am going away all by myself for the whole month of August. hilarious hilarious I will be in Vermont enjoying the solitude and trying to come up with a degree plan that calls for lots of testing ( I am considering TESC comprehensive plan so lots of TECEPs) and a couple of PLA's and hopefully only 1-3 classes to bring my GPA back up.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I need 14 General Education electives, 8 Natural science credits for my concentration 5 of those upper level, and 23 general elective credits (probablt mostly FEMA)

I think some of my credits are in wierd places now, but this is what TESC sent me.
