I never did this badly on a Sophia Touchstone before - Avidreader - 08-20-2024
I have only been getting milestone exam scores in the Business Law course in the 70s range, it is quite obvious I am just not good at law.
And usually in the Touchstones that I fail and have to redo, it was because I felt the essay instructions are too vague. I tend to need examples of what they want so that the response is written in my own words. Because if not, I start formulating over 50 possibilities that are all wrong.
Once I know exactly what they want, I do very well. I also got a flat 0 for spelling and punctuation. I'll go read my failed Touchstone again to see if there was a typo I missed, but I am surprised I'd get a flat 0. I would think you needed to flat out write incoherent gibberish to score a 0 in spelling.
I can't redo the touchstone because it was submitted as it is despite the horrifyingly low score, so obviously I didn’t get the minimum 70% to pass.
Should I request email to let me retake the touchstone in the hopes I somehow discover what it is they are asking that isn't to use better legal references in APA 7 format?
Or should I count my losses and drop out of the course? It is obvious I won't do much better redoing the touchstone, I am just not good at law courses. I barely passed Law in highschool. I did better taking calculus and I am horribly bad at math.

You can ask to redo the touchstone, or at least have someone re-score it which might bump it up a couple percentage points.
Read through the feedback you got and use that to improve your assignment. If you didn't get specific feedback, request that.
