Metropolia recognition in UK/EU/US - Sherwood - 12-10-2024
Hi,
After finishing a Metropolia B.Eng IT degree I received a digital degree certificate, which is an electronically signed pdf file.
I applied for a diploma recognition in the UK at ECCTIS for 75€.
It's the UK's official way of degree recognition.
ECCTIS has sent me a message:
Quote:The transcripts provided have not been stamped or signed by the university.
In order to proceed, we require a clear colour photograph of the full academic transcript / mark sheets for all semesters of study, which has been signed and stamped by the Metropolia ammattikorkeakoulu (Metropolia University of Applied Sciences).
This is an official document which provides a list of the subjects / modules covered within your qualification, and the marks / scores obtained in each of those subjects.
Once we have received the above document, we will be happy to consider your application further.
I also applied for a recognition in Lithuania, but we will see where that goes.
1. Do I try telling them that my degree is just that, a electronically signed pdf file? Metropolia doesn't issue other types of degrees since 2022, even for full-time students.
2. Would Metropolia give something like that? How about I ask them to contact an ECCTIS employee? Or the other way around, ECCTIS contacting them?
3. Does anyone have experience in getting Metropolia recognized in the UK/EU?
4. How about the US? I think AICE would be the authority for that. Or is it WES and ACEI?
Kind regards

This is the page you need: https://www.metropolia.fi/en/services/archive
"If you do not need an official transcript of records with Metropolia’s stamp and signature, you can print one yourself from the My Studyinfo - Studyinfo page."
Otherwise they have a price menu, e.g.:
- Copy of a degree certificate, including a transcript of records and a diploma supplement, 45 euros
- Sending the Certificate directly to international organisation 50 euros
Normally a credential validating agency would be expecting to see the certificate and diploma supplement. This is used all over Europe. I have one from Finland, one from the UK, and one from Germany.

Thanks a lot!
Do you mind sharing what diplomas you have?
